Troubleshooting 3rd Brake Light Malfunction With A Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit On A Jeep

Hello, I recently purchased and installed the Hopkins wiring harness, but the 3rd brake light on our Jeep does not work any longer after I installed it. I can get it to work from one of the rear brake/turn signal wires, but it of course blinks when turn signal is on. What do I need to order and install in order to fix this? Thank you, Tim

Since you're only having issues with your brake light after installing the kit it could be a lose connection of one of the pins so I would first start by checking the pins on on your Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles Item # HM56200 for any defects and using some Dielectric Grease # 11755 to form a strong connection.
If this does not solve your problem then the converter box isn't correctly sending signals and will need to be replaced. Since you just purchased this you'll be able to reach out to the manufacturer, Hopkins Manufacturing, for a replacement.
