Using a wire from the PCM of the vehicle is not the normal way to get the brake signal circuit for a brake controller install. What we recommend is using a circuit tester liker part # PTW2993 to test all of the wires of the brake pedal switch and then see which one only has voltage when the brakes are applied. You'd want to use that circuit.

The Curt Trailer Hitch # C53HR will cut just a bit into the ground clearance on your 2019 Volvo XC90, however it's really only going to sit a small amount below the lowest factory point on the vehicle, which looks to be the muffler. When we installed this hitch on the 2018 Volvo XC90 we measured a distance of 13-3/4" from the ground to the top of the 2" receiver. The Volvo XC series didn't start until the 2003 model year. The 2002 model year options from Volvo were the C70, Cross Country, S40, S60, S80, V40, V70, VHD, VN, and Xpeditor. In 2003 they dropped the Xpeditor and added the XC70 and XC90. Remember that build date is almost always 1 year before the model year of the vehicle.
