Weight distribution/sway control (WD/SC) set-ups are needed in several circumstances, such as when the trailer's weight is more than half of the tow vehicle weight. This is surely the case for your trailer and vehicle combination so a WD/SC system will definitely improve your trailering experience by taking away some of the vehicle rear-end sag and trailer sway.
The key to choosing the correct system is knowing the total effective tongue weight (TW) of the setup. This total TW is the combination... view full answer...
Bearing measurements have to be as precise as possible so if you are not using dial or digital calipers you will want to get some. But that is only if you cannot read the bearing number on the outer bearing. It should be stamped into the metal of the bearing.
The diameter of the Bearing Buddies is its outer diameter where it fits into the end of the hub. It is actually slightly larger than the opening because you need a very tight fit. If your outer bearing number is # LM-11949 then you... view full answer...
According to Tow Ready, the connection point is located underneath your 1994 Isuzu Trooper on the driver side between the rear wheel and bumper. The plug is hidden as it is attached to the back side of a large rubber grommet. According to the illustrations in the instructions, the grommet should also be behind or otherwise near the exhaust. I have attached the installation instructions for reference.
If you find the grommet but the wiring harness is not attached, it could have fallen off... view full answer...

Do you know the diameter of the holes on the D-Ring mounts that are on the bumper? If so then you could use Blue Ox adapter such as # BX88296 for 7/8 inch diameter if that is the hole size.
There are also options for 3/4 inch D-Rings # RM-035 or 1 inch rings # RM-035-1 but you would then have to use a Roadmaster tow bar such as the Falcon 2 # RM-520. If you go with the Roadmaster set up then the tow bar does not come with safety cables like the Blue Ox Aventa LX does. So for safety cables... view full answer...
Flat towing a vehicle requires a few components including a tow bar, safety cables, base plates, a wiring/lighting solution and a braking system for the toad. Often a wiring extension and high/low hitch adapter are also needed. The linked article covers each of these items in detail.
We do offer a base plate for your Trooper, part # 607-16 from Roadmaster. With this I suggest the Tow Ready Adjustable Tow Bar # 63180. Note the bar speed rating is 45-mph and that the Trooper cannot weigh... view full answer...

The Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 that you referenced is indeed what you need to install a fully functional 7-Way on your 1996 Isuzu Trooper so that you can install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller # 90885 to power the trailer's electric brakes. It is okay that the wire colors for the included 7-Way connector do not match up to the wire colors used on your trailer. The pins on the connector will still match up to the pins on the trailer's 7-Way connector with regards to function.... view full answer...
ER is not one of the display messages covered by the troubleshooting chart in the instructions for the Primus # TK90160 which I have linked to the right for you. Because you are seeing ER that is a good indication that there is a major internal problem and the controller will need to be replaced which is the case with other Tekonsha controllers that display ER. A major error inside the controller could happen if the positive and negative wires were reversed by accident. view full answer...
The correct trailer hitch receiver to fit your 2002 Isuzu Trooper is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13098. It's a custom hitch designed specifically for your vehicle. The # 75278 you asked about does not fit your Trooper because it's designed for GM mini vans, like the Chevy Uplander, from 1997 to 2009. view full answer...
The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack # SR1002 that you referenced is confirmed to fit your 1996 Isuzu Trooper so it would work well.

There is a Surco Safari roof rack option that I can recommend for your 1994 Isuzu Trooper with raised siderails, but the part # SPS4550-1101 is not it.
Instead you would want the adapter part # SPSTR100 and Surco basket part # SPS5060 and you would have everything you would need to install a roof cargo basket on your vehicle. view full answer...

For a slightly easier installation, I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" #... view full answer...
I measured the square Surco Safari bars and they are 1-1/2 inches wide by 1-1/8 inches tall so the Yakima MegaWarrior basket with extension # Y07080-82 will fit those bars. This basket fits a bar spread of 36 to 60 inches.
Another option is the actual Surco Safari basket, # SPS5060, which would be a better fit and costs less than the MegaWarrior. view full answer...

The trailer wiring kits that fit your 1994 Isuzu Trooper loike the # C55339 do not use T-connectors that tap into the taillight wiring like you were mentioning. This plugs into a port on the vehicle specifically for trailer wiring so you'd need to go with this kit instead of trying to rewire what you have. We also don't offer any of the OEM vehicle connectors either. view full answer...
At this time there is not an integral locking mechanism for locking the SportRack Cargo Basket, # SR9035, to the roof rack. The best option for locking this basket to the cross bars would be a cable lock like the Cable Lock # e98891.
If you wanted to stay with the Yakima brand and have a basket with integral locking system, you could use the Yakima LoadWarrior Basket, # Y07070, along with the Yakima Locking Mount Brackets, # Y07064, which includes locks for locking the basket to the cross... view full answer...
The first thing to do is figure out if the problem is on your tow vehicle or your trailer. To test this you'll simply need to use a circuit tester # PTW2992 and check the various pin locations for function. For a connector that has both a 4-Way and 7-Way, like the # ETBC7, it would be best to check both connectors so you know if it's that circuit or just that connector. I've attached some photos to show what functions those connectors should carry.
If all of your tow vehicle connectors... view full answer...
