Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2002 Isuzu Trooper To Install Yourself
Question:
Hi, I was wondering if i had to get this welded on. I have a 2002 izuzu trooper and i want to tow a jet ski for now. Possibly 2 at a time. Is this an easy personal install or do i have to take it to a welder/body shop to get it installed? Your help would be greatly appreciated as i have never installed a tow hitch before.

For your 2002 Isuzu Trooper, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75043 is a confirmed fit. It is an easy bolt-on installation, so no welding is needed. It comes with the hardware needed. If you have a little mechanical ability, a couple sockets, and some jack stands or ramps you will be able to do the install yourself. For a slightly easier installation, I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13098 due to its mounting locations. I've attached the installation details to assist but we don't have an installation video on this model. It will be an easy install with the existing weld nuts already present in your frame rails.
For towing, I recommend the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55339. This custom-fit connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located at the rear, on the driver's side. You will find the harness attached to a grommet between the rear wheel well and the bumper. I recommend using the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144 along with the No-Drill Mount Bracket, Short # 18140 to keep your connector off the road.
For a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10037B. This ball mount is adjustable so you can tow many trailers level. It comes with a 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch hitch ball and has a nice stowable feature for a clean look when not in use. This is a really cool feature that will save your shins when you loading or unloading cargo when not using your trailer. I recommend using a hitch lock like # e98882 to secure your investment.
