  • Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier Recommendation for a 2007 Subaru Tribeca
  • For your 2007 Subaru Tribeca I would recommend you get a etrailer Products Hitch Cargo Carrier, part # e98874. This carrier has a folding mechanism in it to allow it to be up and out of the way when you are not using it. This carrier measures 19-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier when down, and 9-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of carrier when folded up. I would measure from the center of your hitch pin...

  • 2011 Subaru Tribeca Hitch and Wiring Recommendation
  • The correct hitch for your 2011 Subaru Tribeca is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13069. This is a custom fit hitch designed specifically for your vehicle. It offers the very versatile 2" reciever tube opening which is compatable with all types of hitch mounted accessories for you to use. Should you have the need to haul a trailer you will need wiring and a ball mount. For this I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C55370 which is also a custom fit part....

  • Can the 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness be Routed Under a 2008 Subaru Tribeca
  • On the 2008 Subaru Tribeca you will either need to stow the 4-Way in the cargo area and pull it out of the rear hatch and shut the hatch on the wiring (the weather stripping will protect it, stay away from the locking mechanism) OR you will have to drill through the bottom of the cargo area if no other options are available. Be sure to seal up the hole after you are finished to keep out fumes and moisture.

  • Can a Trailer Connector be Routed Under a 2011 Subaru Tribeca
  • The wiring harnesses like # C55370 for the 2011 Subaru Tribeca are meant to be stored in the vehicle cargo area and then pulled out the back with the rear hatch closed on it (the weatherstripping on the vehicle will protect it) when you need it. In order to route it down under the vehicle you will need to find a grommet or some exit point at the lowest point in the cargo area. If there is no grommet or you find one that is not large enough you will have to drill through the bottom of...

  • Yakima HullRaiser to HullRaiser Aero Conversion Kit on a Subaru Tribeca
  • The Yakima HullRaiser to HullRaiser Aero Conversion Kit, Y8860031, is a Yakima product. The conversion will fit virtually all base rack cross bars, including factory cross bars. If you do not have crossbars going across your vehicle from driver side to passenger side on your factory rack, then you will need to get those.

  • Can I Use Two Left Hand Electric Brakes On A Single Axle Camper
  • When installing electric brakes onto your single axle camper you can not use 2 left brakes on one axle. You will need one Left # AKEBRK-35L and one Right # AKEBRK-35R. If one set of brake assemblies is on the wrong side of the axle, it will lead to diminished braking performance and premature brake wear. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I will be more than happy to further assist you in your towing endeavors.

  • Can A Hitch Receiver Be Adjusted To Carry a Cargo Carrier More Level
  • If it is the carrier that slopes inside the trailer hitch receiver you can try an anti-rattle device, like the Lets Go Aero Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232. This will help keep the carrier snug against the inside of the hitch receiver. Sometimes wheelchair carriers or carriers with ramps will slightly slope downward due to the weight of the carrier. If the receiver of the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13069 is sloped downward and there are no issues with the vehicle suspension...

  • Which Size Thule Motion XT Cargo Box has Least Wind Resistance on a 2011 Subaru Tribeca
  • For the Thule Motion you are correct about the 16 cubic foot models, # TH629706 for black or # TH629707 for silver, would be the best bet to limit wind resistance on your 2011 Subaru Tribeca. Another option is to use the Rightline hatch saddlebag # RL100B90. Since it is at the back of the vehicle it won't add any wind resistance. And yet another option is to install a trailer hitch, # 75716, and then use an enclosed carrier such as the Yakima EXO carrier # Y62YR, or the massive GearSpace...

  • Recommendation for a Trunk Mounted Bike Rack for 3 Bikes on a 2008 Subaru Tribeca with Spoiler
  • When looking to carry three bikes on your 2008 Subaru Tribeca, I would recommend the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top Carrier for Vehicles with Spoilers, # HRF2-3. I called and spoke with my contact at Hollywood Racks to ensure this model would work well with your vehicle. The price is a little bit higher than what you were looking to spend but it is the most economical way to safely carry your bikes and this is the only trunk mount rack that I would recommend for your vehicle due to it having...

  • Parts Needed To Tow With a 2008 Subaru Tribeca Hitch
  • In order to tow the 1976 Starcraft Starmaster 6 Pop Up Camper with your 2008 Subaru Tribeca you will need a trailer hitch, trailer wiring harness, and ball mount/hitch ball. These will be the only requirements to tow the trailer but you may also be interested in a transmission cooler to help prolong the life of your vehicle's transmission. For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13046. This hitch is a custom fit so no drilling is required and it is super...

  • Brake Controller and Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2009 Subaru Tribeca
  • The closest vehicle to your 2009 Subaru Tribeca we have an install video for is a 2010 Subaru Outback. The process will be very similar so using that video as a guide will help you through the install. The P2 part # 90885 is better than the Primus in a lot of ways. It can mount in several different orientations and has a much more advanced way of sensing deceleration so it will give you better overall braking performance. There are hitches available for your 2009 Subaru Tribeca that are...

  • When installing the Curt Class III 2 Inch Hitch, part # C13046, on the 2009 Subaru Tribeca the plastic fascia tabs will be located on the lower part of the bumper towards the corners. It will allow the plastic rear fascia to flex enough to allow the hitch to be installed to the bumper beam. • How to Install a 7-Way and Brake Controller on a 2009 Subaru Tribeca
  • I do have options for you to install a 7-way trailer wiring harness and brake controller on your 2009 Subaru Tribeca but we do not offer a kit with all of this included. Instead, you would need to purchase each of the components separately. For starters, you will need a 4-way trailer wiring harness if you do not already have one and for that I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118461 which is a plug and play kit that will not require any...

  • How do I Connect a Brake Controller to a 2013 Subaru Tribeca
  • From the information I was able to find, your 2013 Subaru Tribeca does not have a brake controller connection under the dashboard, so you will be required to do some hard-wiring work. In order to install a 7 way connection on the back of your vehicle you can use the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers # ETBC7 to plug into your existing 4 way; from there you'll just need to run a brake controller, aux power wire, battery wire and ground. Since there are no plug and...

  • Recommended 7-way to 4-way Adapter To Hook Tear Camper To Tow Vehicle
  • We do offer quite a few adapters to go from larger connectors to a 4-way flat connector like what is found on your tear camper. The most common larger connector is the 7-way, so if that is what is on your new vehicle you can use the 7-Way RV to 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47365 to still use your trailer with your new tow vehicle. I included a video of the # HM47365 for you to take a look at.

  • Can Rhino-Rack Sunseeker Awning Be Attached to Yakima Round Crossbars
  • In order to mount the Rhino-Rack Sunseeker Awning # RR32132 to your 2008 Subaru Tribeca you will need to replace your existing Yakima Round Crossbars with aero-style units. This is because the Sunseeker requires the integrated top channels on these style bars, which aren't present on round bars like what you have. For this I recommend the Yakima 60" JetStream Crossbars # Y00426. Since you already have a Yakima roof rack you will be able to replace just the bars using your existing mounting...

  • Compatability of Curt Carrier C18100 and Curt Hitch #13060 on a 2012 Subaru Tribeca
  • The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, part # C13069, is a good fit for your Subaru Tribeca. This hitch comes complete with hardware and requires no welding to install. I measured the distance from the mounting flange to the center of the hitch pin hole and it measures approximately 3-7/8 inches. The 19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier, part # C18100 may be a fit for the hitch depending on the clearance. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front edge of the carrier when folded up...

  • Is It OK To Bend No-Drill Mounting Bracket 18136 To Clear Rear Bumper?
  • Absolutely! It is not uncommon to have to bend the Long No-Drill Mounting Bracket # 18136 to make it where you can mounting a 7-way connector. There is no issue with mounting the bracket vertically and bending it a bit to allow your 7-way connector mounting bracket to fit. I included a video of the # 18136 for you to take a look at.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brake Controller Circuit that Activates all of the Time
  • You said that the brake controller output circuit was the number 2 circuit on your 7-way. If by that you mean the 2:00 position then you have the circuits flip flopped. The 2:00 position should be the 12 volt accessory circuit, not the brake output circuit. That would explain why you are getting 12 volts all the time. The brake controller circuit should be the 5:00 position. Check out the diagram I attached to see how it should all get wired up.
