Can A Hitch Receiver Be Adjusted To Carry a Cargo Carrier More Level

Question:

I have the 13069 Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver mounted on my 2012 Subaru Tribeca. I have a wheelchair carrier that I need to mount on the vehicle. The problem is that when the carrier is mounted, it slopes downward without anything loaded onto it. I have mounted the same wheelchair carrier onto other vehicles and do not have this issue. Question: What can I do to make the receiver hitch level?

If it is the carrier that slopes inside the trailer hitch receiver you can try an anti-rattle device, like the Lets Go Aero Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232. This will help keep the carrier snug against the inside of the hitch receiver. Sometimes wheelchair carriers or carriers with ramps will slightly slope downward due to the weight of the carrier.

If the receiver of the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13069 is sloped downward and there are no issues with the vehicle suspension or frame, then that could indicate that the receiver was not welded correctly and the hitch would have to be replaced.
