However, if the emergency braking system engages the brake lights to inform drivers behind you are braking, you could wire the Tow Pro brake signal to the trailer plug brake wire and capture all braking situations.

I looked up the online owners manual for a 2019 Ford Ranger. This shows the fuse for the trailer module is in spot 73 and it will be a 30 amp fuse.
These newer ford trucks have a smart tow feature. So the12v power at the 7 way will only be turned on when the trailer is hooked up, your truck is turned on, the transmission in gear, the brake pedal depressed and the setting through the in dash menu is activated. view full answer...
If your 2021 Ford Ranger has the factory towing package it will have a factory installed trailer hitch receiver, and a 4-way/7-way connector.
If you do not have these components then your truck does not have the factory towing package.

On a flat 4-way connector, the standard function is Green is the right turn signal and brake, Yellow is left turn signal and brake, White is ground, and Brown is the running lights, used when the headlights are on.

The power draw wouldn't be enough to drain the battery unless you were leaving it sitting for months at a time so you really don't need to worry. If you want to cut the power you can just remove the connector in the back of the controller to cut the power.
