Since auto manufacturers can many times use different wire colors so you will want to test the wiring on your Honda Pilot.
I recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and check each of the wires for function by having someone run through the functions while each wire or pin in the connector is tested. Typically, the purple wire is for the reverse lights, but again since the wire colors may be different the best way to know for sure is to use a circuit tester.

There are small retainers on the wiring for the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118286 which will allow you to remove them from the round connector. The tabs are part of the metal terminal you press into the connector. You will need some very small pics to press the tabs.
