Will the Backup Camera on a 2011 Honda Pilot be Blocked with a Kuat 2.0 Bike Rack?
Question:
Will the backup camera on a 2012 Honda Pilot be blocked when the Kuat NV 2.0 Base 4-Bike Platform Rack is in the folded up position if only the part for two bikes is used ie two bike positions are removed? Im looking at the photos and videos and it looks like you may be able to peer over the rack. Clearly and obviously the camera will be blocked if the full rack is folded up. Im thinking however that we may have only a partially blocked view with the backup camera if we kept just the two positions attached to the car by default. We would Im hoping just not be able to see the ground closest to the vehicle but would be able to see further away behind the vehicle by looking overinch the rack. Im hoping we could just add the other two positions only when we actually need the capacity for three or four bikes.

From my research on the 2011 Honda Pilot, the backup camera is located above the center of the rear license plate below the Honda emblem. I called my contact at Kuat, and he told me that the measurement of the hitch pin hole to the tallest part with only two trays on the rack (when folded) on the Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack # BA22B-BA02B is 24-3/4 inches. While I cannot confirm with certainty if the folded NV 2.0 would block your camera, I recommend measuring the pinhole to the camera location on your Honda Pilot in order to get a better idea if there would be any blockage.
