How To Determine Wire Functions On 2014 Honda Pilot For Trailer Harness
Question:
I have 2014 Honda pilot exl the wiring harness from Honda has blue/black/red/yellow/white/green/brown I have purchased a part that has for the car side blue/black/purple/yellow/white/green/brown my question is which wire do I splice the purple wire to and if possible what are Hondas wire colors for each function. to my under standing purple is reverse lights how ever on the wire harness under the rear bumper there is no purple wire. please help thanks

Since auto manufacturers can many times use different wire colors so you will want to test the wiring on your Honda Pilot.
I recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and check each of the wires for function by having someone run through the functions while each wire or pin in the connector is tested. Typically, the purple wire is for the reverse lights, but again since the wire colors may be different the best way to know for sure is to use a circuit tester.
