Nope, you will not need to install a circuit breaker in your 2010 Toyota 4Runner with the factory tow package to install the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180. view full answer...
The front skid plate you have on your 2018 Toyota 4Runner TRD will need to be removed in order to install a front mount trailer hitch like the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31076. This has to do with where the hitch mounts in relation to the skid plate and the lack of space for both to attach. There will be no way to install a front mount hitch on the vehicle without either removing or modifying the skid plate. view full answer...
The Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - XG12 Pro - Size 267
# TH01594267 do tighten on their own, no initial tightening needed.
Once you put them on and make the three color-coded connections, their self-centering, automatic tension system takes over, keeping the chains snug on your 2021 Toyota 4Runner. view full answer...
Installing the Airaid MXP Cold Air Intake System with SynthaMax Dry Filter - Stage 2 - Fully Enclosed # AR511-302 on your 2017 Toyota 4 Runner will not void your manufacturer warranty.
When you install an aftermarket part on your vehicle like this, you are protected by the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. This act states, in part, that unless the installation and the part caused a problem then the warranty cannot be voided. I am not aware of any way that a cold air intake could cause direct... view full answer...
You should not have a problem attaching the Strait-Line Weight Distribution on your 4 inch C-channel trailer frame.
Per the installation instructions for part # RP26002, when installing the dual cam sway control, the note says the bottom of the frame plate must contact the bottom of the trailer frame. Some C-channel frames have rounded outside corners which will prevent the frame plate from contacting the frame. if your C-channel frame has rounded corners, you will need to place 1/2 inch... view full answer...
If you've already cleaned out the opening on your 2010 Toyota 4Runner then it's likely the Kat's Heater # KH11813 needs to be inserted a specific way. This isn't the case on all vehicles, and we haven't had the chance to install one on a 4Runner but on some it needs to be rotated to find the correct way for installation. view full answer...
The maintenance the Sidewinder recommends for your Sidewinder is:
BEFORE EACH TRIP:
1. CHECK YOUR EQUIPMENT: Check that condition of all of your towing equipment and keep it in top condition. 2. Check that the torque of the (4) cap bolts is 45 ft-lbs.
3. Check to see that all bolts are properly tightened.
4. Check wedge engagement in the fifth wheel jaw, refer to wedge adjustment portion of installation instructions.
MAINTENANCE:
1. For ease of hookup; frequently lubricate the wedge... view full answer...
For a mud service tire chain that fits your tire size 265/70-16 I'd recommend the part # PWE2441S. This chain setup was designed specifically for off road use so it would work well for you and would be very reliable as well.
I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well. view full answer...
Thank you for the purchase of the Westin Molded, Lighted Running Boards w/ Custom Installation Kit # 27-0005-1945 for your 2022 Toyota 4Runner.
According to my research the driver's side trigger wire is a dark green and then a purple after the junction connector and then the passenger's side is gray and then light green after the junction connector. You'll need to use a circuit tester to verify these functions prior to making any splices into your wiring.
Once you have the correct wires... view full answer...
You do not mention which hitch you are considering, but I will assume it is either the Hidden Hitch Class III, part # 70779 or the Draw Tite Class III, part # 75155. I have added a link to a copy of the installation instructions for that hitch. If you refer to Figure 2, the view you see is looking at the bottom of the bumper. The darkened corner of that tab is all that would need to be trimmed. The instructions for the 4 runner make no mention of the spare tire, so I would assume that... view full answer...
There are three different combinations of jounce bumpers for your 2000 Toyota 4Runner: no jounce bumper, small 3 inch jounce bumper or large jounce bumper (Fig.3). Installation of the AirLift 1000 # AL60743 depends on what style the vehicle had originally.
If there is a large hole at the top of the coil spring once the spacers are removed, you'll need to install the protector (puck) to cover that hole and install the airbag so the stem is facing up (Fig.5). If there is no large hole when... view full answer...
When we installed this Tekonsha Harness # 3040-P in a 2004 Toyota 4Runner similar to your 2005 we used a trim panel bolt and it worked fine. If you check out the video I attached you can see exactly what bolt I am referring to.
I also attached a pic that I took from the video that shows the bolt and the wire as well. Fast forward to the 1:30 area to see the portion of the video that deals with the ground wire. view full answer...
I do have a solution for you to use 2 of the Thule Hullavator Pro # TH898 carriers on your 2000 Toyota 4Runner but unfortunately there are no roof rack fits from Thule.
The best roof rack for your application is the 66" Round Crossbars # Y00410 (add end caps with part # Y8007026), the SkyLine Towers # Y53TR, the RoundBar SL Adapter # Y03536, and the Landing Pad 1 # Y00221.
The Hullavator requires about 31" of crossbar space and needs to stick out from your vehicle at least 4". You can... view full answer...
If you were using a light kit installed on the etrailer Cargo Carrier part # e98874 that you referenced like the part # 20174 you wouldn't want to ground the lights to the carrier. You'd want to ground them back to the main harness of the trailer wiring instead like what the kit is setup to do. The white wire in the harness for the # 20174 is the ground. view full answer...
I checked with Tekonsha, and you would be able to use a plug-in brake control wiring adapter, part # 3040-P, to make the install of the brake controller on your 2010 Toyota 4Runner very simple. You should find the factory brake controller harness underneath the dash and to the left of your steering column, near the emergency brake pedal. This harness will have a 5-pin connector that will mate up to the plug on the # 3040-P wiring.
If you do choose to hard wire the unit, the Primus brake... view full answer...
To install the Westin Ultimate Bull Bar, # 32-3605, there is some trimming of the splash guard required. The instructions state specifically: Take the drivers side splash guard and position it against the frame mounting bracket, mark the are that needs to be cut from the splash guard to clear the bracket. Cut only the minimum amount to clear and then reinstall. Repeat this step for the passenger side.
The splash guard is under the vehicle and not visible unless underneath. view full answer...
Since the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13087 installation requires removing and reinstalling M12 bolts from the tow hooks on a 4Runner you will need to acquire M12 bolts for the installation on your 1999 Toyota 4Runner otherwise you'll only have half of the necessary hardware installed which can be dangerous. It looks like all of the hitches that fit your 4Runner require these bolt hole locations to be used as well.
If you plan on using this hitch for towing I also recommend picking... view full answer...
If the two 3/4-inch bolts, washers and nuts that secure the head assembly to the shank of your Curt MV weight distribution system # C17051 are installed properly and you have also installed the adjustment pin and flat washers you do not need to worry about the 1/8-inch of play between the head and shank. For reference, these parts are shown in the linked instructions as items 8, 9, and 10 (bolts, washers and nuts) and items 18 and 19 (pin and washers).

To check the lighting functions of your trailer connector using the Tekonsha # 6562 Trailer Emulator, plug the unit into the 7-way and activate the lighting functions (right turn, left turn, brake lamp and running lights) one by one. As each function is activated, the corresponding LED on the tester should light.
As for the BK lamp, I'm assuming you have a brake controller installed. Modern brake controllers send a pulse back to the trailer connector to determine if the trailer is plugged... view full answer...
