When Wiring Up Light Kit to etrailer Cargo Carrier Should Ground Wire Run to the Carrier Frame

Question:

How do you attach the ground wire to a etrailer hitch cargo basket carrier? I have one that tilts up and I grounded to the tongue. It seems to have intermittent problems. Wondering if I ground to the basket area where the lights are if it will work better.

If you were using a light kit installed on the etrailer Cargo Carrier part # e98874 that you referenced like the part # 20174 you wouldn't want to ground the lights to the carrier. You'd want to ground them back to the main harness of the trailer wiring instead like what the kit is setup to do. The white wire in the harness for the # 20174 is the ground.
