Installation of AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs on 2000 Toyota 4Runner Missing Jounce Springs

Question:

I notice these can be installed without a jounce bumper. The previous owner of my 2000 4runner removed the jounce bumpers completely and installed 2inch spacers above the coil springs. Am i correct in seeing that I can remove those spacers, install the puck that comes with this kit above the airbags, and that is it? Nothing else needs to go at the top of the spring? Thanks for your time

There are three different combinations of jounce bumpers for your 2000 Toyota 4Runner: no jounce bumper, small 3 inch jounce bumper or large jounce bumper (Fig.3). Installation of the AirLift 1000 # AL60743 depends on what style the vehicle had originally.

If there is a large hole at the top of the coil spring once the spacers are removed, you'll need to install the protector (puck) to cover that hole and install the airbag so the stem is facing up (Fig.5). If there is no large hole when you remove the spacers, you'll need to drill a 9/16 inch hole in the lower spring seat, then install the protector at the bottom of the coil spring and install the airbag so the stem is facing down, using the drilled hole to run your line out.

I've attached the complete step by step installation instructions for you at the bottom of this page as well.
