Most likely, your problem is caused by a blown fuse or relay caused by a short in your trailer wiring. First, make sure that the wiring harness that holds the relays behind the passenger side kick panel is plugged in all the way, until it clicks. Make sure the 2 blue relays are fully seated in the harness. You can see the location of the harness by clicking the provided link for the # C56225 wiring harness. You can also check the point where the # 118263 plugs in under the vehicle, making... view full answer...
I recommend testing the 7-Way trailer connector without the adapter plugged in using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 if needed. You can use the included picture to determine what the functions should be. It is possible that something does not match up between the 7-Way and the adapter. If the 7-Way is functioning properly, plug in the adapter and test again using the 4-Way picture included. If the signals coming out the 4-Way side do not match up, you may need to re-pin the adapter.

There are a few different ways that the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267 can be installed which will vary based on if the motorhome has a separate or combined lighting system and if the vehicle has a separate or combined lighting system. The 2017 Nissan Frontier has a separate lighting system therefore, I have attached two diagrams for you. There is a diagram if your motorhome has a separate lighting system and there is a diagram if your motorhome... view full answer...
If the harness you installed is aftermarket and not from the factory, then the taillights will not work unless you have a factory tow package. If you do not have a factory tow package, you can use a different harness, # 118266. I have included installation details and an installation video below.
I checked a colleagues truck, he has a 2004 model, so there may be some differences. But, there are some fuses under your hood, passenger side, that may say something like HD tail light. One is... view full answer...
The Blue Ox Weight Distribution system part # BLU36FR is a great option for a weight distribution system for your 179SE based on the weights you mentioned. But to use a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball you'd have to swap out what comes with it and go with the part # C40008 which will fit in place and is the size you want.
For this tongue weight range of weight distribution they are not available with the larger ball size as a kit. view full answer...
On some Nissan vehicles, there are relays that are required to fully activate a trailer wiring harness. If the truck did not come with a factory tow package then you will need the relays. The wiring kit we offer that comes with the relays is # C56225. The relays by themselves are # C57000.
However, in some cases there is an additional relayed required that can be obtained by the dealer. Since you have power on the left and right signals and brakes, it sounds like you just need this additional... view full answer...
Your 2005 Nissan Frontier does use relays but there can also be fuses associated with the tow package wiring. Use the vehicle owners manual to find the locations of any fuses/relays related to the tow package wiring and replace as needed. The owners manual should also indicate any internal relays or fuses in the cab of the vehicle. If a relay is needed inside the vehicle, it will be one of the blue relays in the Curt Relay Kit # C57000. view full answer...
There isn't much to the # HM43534 so I would check out the vehicle wiring. You could start by checking the Hopkins wiring right after the vehicle connector, or test the connector and wire on the vehicle side. More than likely you don't have any power coming from the factory wiring. Assuming that is the case, I would check the fuses. If a fuse isn't blown then it is likely a short in the wiring which you can attempt to find and repair or take it to a local repair shop. view full answer...
Trailer wiring harness # 118263 is designed to fit as a replace if your 2006 Nissan Frontier came with a factory 4-Way. If you added it without the factory tow package then it would not be functional or fully functional. You would instead need # C56225.
If your Frontier does have the factory tow package then it could just be a blown fuse or relay. The easiest thing to check would be for a blown fuse. Use the truck owners manual to find all of the fuse/relay locations related to the tow... view full answer...
The relay of the running light circuit on your 2021 Nissan Frontier is in the relay harness behind the passenger floor board kick panel.
If you check out the install video I attached the first thing shown is how to access this area.
Sometimes it can be behind lower dash panel to the left of steering wheel as well. view full answer...
The single green light of the Curt Venture part # C74VV indicates that there is no trailer connected but that the controller is ready to be used otherwise.
Is there any corrosion on the trailer connectors of both your tow vehicle and your trailer? That is the most common problem for brake controllers that won't show a trailer connection. Try cleaning them first to see if that fixes the problem.
I attached a help article for you to check out as well with further troubleshooting tips. view full answer...
The relays on the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56225 are supposed to fully seat into the harness. I recommend removing the relays to verify none of the pins were bent or there is any debris inside the connectors which prevents them from fully seating. You want the relays to fully seat into the connectors as this will prevent them from falling out over time or causing any shorts inside the connector which may damage the relay and your harness. view full answer...
It sounds like the converter on your Hopkins wiring harness, # 33515, is not working correctly. The first step I would take is to use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, to check the trailer plug on the wiring harness for proper function without a trailer connected. If there is power there when the brakes, turn signals and taillights are activated, then you know that the ground for the wiring is not connected properly, and you will need to check the vehicle connector and trailer wiring... view full answer...
First, you can verify if your 2006 Nissan Frontier came with a factory tow package by having a dealership run the VIN number to tell you what options it came with. If it did come with a factory tow package, it could be that the relays associated with the tow package running lights needs to be replaced. If it did not come with a tow package, then that relay may be missing. You can check the locations of the relays in the owner's manual.
You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 if needed... view full answer...
First, it is possible that the harness is miswired and you would need to switch the black and blue wires on the small black connector. If this does not work then there are some other things to look at.
Some Nissan vehicles will require an additional relay in the in-cab fuse panel that you can get from a dealer to make the wiring harness fully functional. However I have not heard of this being an issue on the Frontier so there could be something else going on.
First, lets focus on the... view full answer...
Yes, Firestone airbags such as the # F2558 you have installed on your 2019 Nissan Frontier can support the weight of the wheels and axle. This is due to Firestone using a roll crimp that holds the endplate to the rubber.
With that said, if you'll be leaving the truck like that for an extended period of time like a day or two, I'd still go ahead and use jackstands to support the weight of the axle anyways, but that's more of a personal preference. view full answer...

You do have a very interesting situation. I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha, who is one of the leading brake controller manufacturers out there, and he said that the only way that a brake controller would be causing the brake pedal on your 2013 Nissan Frontier to activate (which it sounds like what is happening) is if it were hardwired incorrectly. Any brake controller will have 4 wires on it; one that is ground, one that is run to the battery for power, one that is run to the brake controller... view full answer...
The easiest way to determine if a relay is bad is to swap it with a relay that you know is working and see if that fixes the problem. If it is the relay then you will simply need to replace the brown relay that you mentioned like what comes in the Kit # C57000.
The only other thing I can think is that the power wire itself is damaged somewhere. I tried looking up your order but I couldn't find anything. If you can let me know what your order number is or the email address you used to place... view full answer...
