Troubleshooting Curt Venture Brake Controller that Doesnt Show Trailer Connected
Question:
I just installed the 7 pin wire harness and plug and also the Curt venture brake controller. I hooked it up to my boat like it said and all Im getting is one green light when I mash the brake. I have tried the manual control and still the same thing. I have checked all my connections and they are plugged up as they should be. Am I doing something wrong or is it in the controller itself?

The single green light of the Curt Venture part # C74VV indicates that there is no trailer connected but that the controller is ready to be used otherwise.
Is there any corrosion on the trailer connectors of both your tow vehicle and your trailer? That is the most common problem for brake controllers that won't show a trailer connection. Try cleaning them first to see if that fixes the problem.
I attached a help article for you to check out as well with further troubleshooting tips.
