On your 2013 Chevy Silverado, no plug is present under the dash, but the needed wires are already run. You will connect the brake controller wiring with the vehicle wiring already present under the dash.
To attach your Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller - Plug In - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # HM47294, you will simply hardwire the pigtail. I recommend using the Universal Wiring Adapter for Hopkins Trailer Brake Controllers # HM47685 to give you the quick connects and keep you from... view full answer...
Yes, once the rain sensor on the MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus # MA00-04500K is dry it will restart the fan and open the lid automatically. If there is any rain that is on the sensor then it will remain closed. My contact at MaxxAir confirmed this.
This roof vent will fit all standard 14" x 14" roof openings and will do a great job at keeping your trailer or RV well circulated. It comes with all of the mounting screws and hardware that you will need, but you will need to purchase the sealant, like... view full answer...
Trailair Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Boxes, such as the Lippert # LC328492, are designed to replace the existing pin box on your trailer. The long and short jaw models that you referenced in your question simply refer to the type of pin box that the unit is designed to replace.
In order to find the correct replacement king pin, you will want to determine what you have on your trailer. The easiest way to do this is to simply look for the pin box number on your trailer, which should be located... view full answer...
Air bags are primarily designed to help suspend loads carried in the truck bed, and will not do much to distribute any of the trailer tongue weight to the front truck axle.
Once your ATV is loaded into your truck bed, you will need to consider about 1/2 its weight (the portion located behind the rear truck axle) as tongue weight. You will need to ensure that the tongue weight of the trailer, plus the weight of anything in the bed behind the axle does not exceed the tongue weight rating... view full answer...
The brake controller pigtail that came with the truck can certainly be used to install the controller. If your brake controller has bare wires exiting the rear, you can indeed wire the controller directly to the pigtail. The wire colors WILL NOT match up color for color, and would connect as follows:
Red wire on the pigtail to black wire on the controller
Light blue pigtail wire to red controller wire
Black pigtail wire to white controller wire
Dark blue pigtail wire to blue controller... view full answer...
The Reese installation kit # RP50064-58 does fit extended cab and crew cab models of the 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. Once installed and a hitch is mounted, the hitch centerline will be approximately 1-1/2 inches forward of the rear axle centerline. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. I have also included a link to a video showing a typical installation.
If you measure from 1-1/2 inches in front of the center of the rear axle forward to the cab, that will tell... view full answer...
We don't have an install picture but what I can do is describe it. The portion of the # LC301704 with the round holes mounts to the bottom of the frame on your trailer with nuts and bolts or welding. They would need to be spaced at the width of your steps. Then the square hole side of the outrigger is used to run the included hardware through to attach to the step. view full answer...
The 2009 Chevy Silverado does not have a port to plug in a brake controller but it does have the wiring for it tucked up under the dash, to the left of the steering column, held together with a white tag that lists the functions of the wires. So you would not use a brake controller wiring harness that plugs into the vehicle. I have linked a help article explaining the installation of a brake controller on a truck like yours. view full answer...
For the universal installation kit that comes with Pro Series hitch # PS30128 you will follow the instructions for # RP30035 which I have linked for you. You will need sheet 5 of 19 in the linked instructions.
To place the rear rail measure from the rear edge of the bed (not the tailgate) forward 30 inches for a long bed or 25-1/8 inches for a short bed 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500. Then you would use the hitch placed in the rear rail (once in position) in order to place the front rail in... view full answer...

I spoke to my contact at Derale and he informed me that you will be able to use the existing lines you've run on your 2004 Chevrolet Silverado for your 8000 series cooler # D13504 to switch out just the cooler portion for the larger 9000 series # D13614 with no extra adapters.
I have linked the above mentioned products to this page for your viewing and purchasing convenience. view full answer...
I contacted our representative at Derale and he informed me that the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit With Fan, part # D13960, can be amounted anywhere. Since it uses a fan for cooling, it is not necessary to use the radiator for cooling as the fan is strong enough to provide cooling power.
It may be beneficial for more cooling efficiency if you can mount it in front of the radiator, behind the bumper, but it is not required. Transmission fluid cannot be cooled too much... view full answer...
The Reese # RP30035 fifth wheel hitch install kit is confirmed to fit your 2008 Silverado 2500HD.
Keep in mind that a universal kit like this will require drilling into the truck frame, which can add a considerable amount of time onto the install. A custom kit is available as part # RP50064-58 that would use existing frame holes, which will shave quite a bit of time off the installation.
As you have a short bed truck, be sure the # RP30854 fifth wheel hitch head you're using is mounted... view full answer...
The red wire is the input wire telling the brake controller that you have stepped on the brake pedal. This should be a 12 volt wire on the cold side of the brake switch if hardwiring the controller. Some vehicles, like the 2013 Chevy Silverado, already have a tow package wire bundle under the dash, to the left of the steering column, held together with a white tag. The white tag also should have the functions of each wire on it.
The brake controller wiring is black for 12 volt power to... view full answer...
You can certainly install an aftermarket brake controller on your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885. This brake controller offers a digital display, 3 boost levels, battery protection, and continuous diagnostics. The P2 is a proportional brake controller that will activate immediately and tailor the trailer's braking to that of the tow vehicle.
To start, you will want to find the bundle of 4 or 5 blunt-cut wires under... view full answer...
The video you are referring to, linked to the right for reference, does indeed show a wire bundle with 5 wires. This is normal on a 2009 Chevy Silverado. Brake controllers only use 4 wires. On the truck you will not use the orange wire on to install the brake controller.
The brake controller white will go to the truck white wire for ground
Brake controller black to truck red for 12 volt power into the controller
Brake controller red to truck light blue for input from the brake switch

The K-Source Custom Extendable Towing Mirrors # KS62093-94G that fit your 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 come with electric and heat functions, but the electrical function is for the mirror movement only and doesn't move the mirror housing. There are no power-folding options available as replacements so you will need to adjust them back and forth manually.
I have attached a review video of these on a 2009 GMC Sierra that you can check out. view full answer...
Hyperflashing will only occur when a LED is installed on a vehicle's turn signal wiring. When installed on a trailer wiring setup hyperflashing won't happen.
You would not need to worry about hyper flashing if you install this on your trailer. view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Derale about the lack of change in temperature you noticed on your 2011 Chevrolet Silverado. He confirmed that the factory transmission temperature sensor is located inside the transmission, where the fluid is the hottest. He said the effects of the aftermarket transmission cooler are not typically seen with the factory sensor, since the fluid quickly heats back up once inside the transmission. My contact at Derale also said that it is common to not notice a temperature... view full answer...
