One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

This oil cooler has really helped improve the oil pressure in my GEN III Hemi by reducing the oil temperate approximately 20 degrees cooler than before we installed it. Excellent product by Derale and service by etrailer.com.

by:

The cooler was easy to install, the instruction were easy to follow. I did check the oil temp after pulling a 4000 ft grade pulling a camp trailer with an electronic temp probe and there was a 50 deg temp drop thru the cooler.

My original transmission cooler sprung a leak on my 1990 dodge pickup and a direct replacement couldn't be found. Etrailer had a cooler that would fit and do the job. Would highly recommend them to solve your problems and supply what's needed.

  • Transmission Cooler for 2005 Honda Accord V6.
The Derale # D13611 transmission cooler isn't designed to replace the factory transmission cooler, it's designed to supplement it. The cooler installs inline on the return line from the factory cooler back to the transmission. The heat exchanger portion would ideally be installed directly behind the grillwork, in front of the radiator. If you use the provided link, my buddy David will run through how the cooler works. I'll also link to some help articles about transmission coolers.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2003 Honda Pilot
If you're not planning on towing frequently at or near its 4500 lb capacity or in mountainous areas, the Derale # D13611 you'd looked at would be an excellent choice. The cooler is a plate fit design, which offers extremely high efficiency in a small package that won't take up much room on the front of your radiator. If you'll be pushing the vehicle harder by towing more frequently and planning on running up and down hills, a larger cooler like # D13502 would be a better choice. Unless...

  • Transmission Cooler for a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
Some Nissan vehicles like the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder can have problems with the transmission and radiator. If it were me I would look for any signs of leaking fluid at the tranny and radiator. Also, if you notice anything out of the ordinary with the way the vehicle changes gears, I would avoid it. The problem that usually occurs is that the radiator will leak coolant into the transmission cooler cavity. Once you get foreign materials or fluids in the transmission its pretty much done. The...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2005 Chevy Colorado
The best way to pick out a transmission cooler is to measure the amount of space you have in front of your radiator and pick out the largest cooler that would fit there. If you have room for it I would recommend you go with a Derale Transmision Cooler part # D13502. This cooler measures 11 inches wide by 7-1/4 inches tall by 7/8 inches deep. You will also want the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13035 to make installation easier. Check out the install video and FAQ article...

Yes you can use the Derale transmission cooler # D13611 on your 2016 GMC Terrain. The cooler will help the fluid run at a lower temperature which is better for the transmission so that you will get the most life out of it. Installation is not all that difficult. Take a look at the video I have linked showing an example installation on a vehicle. Installation will be similar on your Terrain.

The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Cooler # D13611 would be an excellent choice for use on your 2011 Nissan Maxima. Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific, but there are coolers that are recommended based on available mounting locations of your vehicle. It is always recommended to use the most efficient mounting location that is possible. Typically this is located between the AC condenser core and the grille. If the ideal and most efficient mounting location is not possible, then...

The ideal place to mount a transmission cooler for maximum cooling efficiency is behind the grill of your 2015 Chevy Equinox but in front of the radiator. I included a diagram to show the best location. You...

This includes how much weight you will be towing with your 2010 Honda Accord, the terrain you will be driving on, the distance you will be towing, and the available location a cooler can be installed in order to keep the transmission fluid in the optimum temperature range (160 to 200 degrees F). This cooler will be more than adequate for towing the weights you will be towing. You can not cool transmission fluid too much so the larger the cooler is, the better. We have a video installation of this cooler on a 2006 Honda CR-V that will be very similar to the installation on your 1997 model, see link. • Will Transmission Cooler Resolve Mixed Coolant Issues On A 2005 Nissan Frontier
Any of the transmission coolers we sell are designed more as a supplemental cooler that is meant to augment the factory transmission cooler portion of the radiator, not replace it entirely. If you are having the common problem with the radiator leaking causing the engine coolant contaminating the transmission fluid, your best bet would be to have the original radiator replaced. Nissan has extended the factory warranties on radiators on 2005-2010 Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra models....

  • Will Aftermarket Radiator Solve Leaking Transmission Cooler Problems in 2006 Nissan Xterra
From what I can recall, the problem with the mid 2000's Nissan truck radiators was that the combined transmission cooler/radiator would develop a leak that allowed coolant to mix with the transmission fluid, which damaged the transmission. You will want to install the cooler on the return line. Feel the two lines; the cooler one is the return line. The general rule is that transmission fluid cannot be cooled too much, so using the largest cooler that will fit is a good idea, especially if towing. The factory transmission cooler is likely inside of the radiator on your 2006 Nissan Xterra so the only way to replace it would be to replace the radiator. You can probably find an aftermarket one for less money than an OEM replacement from Nissan.
