product from Pollak is always great but they packed it with steel couplers and destroyed it

No issues at all.

2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

by:

Easy to install and has worked every si nce

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

1995 Ford F-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

by:
2015 Audi Q7

The right adapter, fits Audi q7 factory tow package. 1/3 the price of Audi part. Fast shipping, etrailer is the place for reasonably priced trailer parts.
Thanks George

Quality unit. Easy installation. Replaced the oem perfectly.

I was surprised that my 2021 VW ID.4 had a hitch receiver but no receptacle. This fit perfectly.

  • How To Add A 7-Way To a 2010 Volkswagen Touareg With Plug Under Rear Bumper
I do have the needed parts to provide you with a 7-way trailer connector but unfortunately, I don't have any information on the plate/socket you are referring to. The best place to look for advice on this would be in your owner's manual but if not listed here then your local Volkswagen dealer. If you send me a photo I may be able to provide advice as well if the above two options fail. The 7-Way Trailer Adapter for VW, Audi, and Porsche Towing Trailers with LED Lights part # C57003 that...

  • Correct Pin on 7-Way to Wire Trailer Battery for Maintenance Charge
To provide a maintenance charge to the battery on your trailer while you travel you will want to run the hot lead from the battery to the 12V pin on the 7-Way. At the back of your trailer's 7-Way this will be at the 1 o'clock position (see attached image). You will also want to make sure that the corresponding pin on the vehicle's 7-Way is active. If not you will just need to run 10 gauge wiring like # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) from the 7-Way up to the truck's battery via a circuit breaker...

  • Trailer Brakes Only Work when Interior Light Switch is On on Horse Trailer
With trailer wiring, you can't make any assumptions. The wires have to be tested to determine the functions. An easy way to do this would be to use a separate 12 volt battery and apply power to each wire on the trailer and then see what turns on. Then wire up the trailer connector accordingly. There may be breakaway system that is wired in with the 12 volt circuit from the trailer connector so when the switch is off it basically closes off that circuit. That would explain why the brake...

The 7-way socket you referenced, Pollak # PK11893, connects to your vehicle with a round standard U.S. Car connector. This is an exact OEM replacement for the GMC Sierra. If you wish to have flexibility to connect to trailers that use a 4-pole flat connector you can instead consider one of the 4- and 7-way connectors shown on the link provided. These plug in to the truck in the same way but provide two connector options. Several include a length of wiring, such as Curt # HM40975, which...

If the trailer towed by your motorhome has lights on one side that do not work the issue is likely to be on the trailer. You could have bad bulbs, loose wiring or corroded connector contacts on the trailer plug. Check all contacts on the trailer plug, looking for even slight greenish or whitish discoloration. It is possible the issue is nothing more than slight corrosion that you can clean off with an aerosol electrical contact cleaner like Caig De-Oxit. Check all bulbs and bulb sockets...

  • Troubleshooting No Stop/Turn Signal Lights on Trailer But Running Lights are Active
So the stop/turn circuits on a trailer typically draw the most amperage so if your trailer wiring had an insufficient ground this would be the time it would show up. First thing you should do at this point is test the 4-way of the wiring harness with a circuit tester part # PTW2992 for voltage on all of the right pins when the taillight signals are being applied. Just like in the video I attached. If the voltage checks out there but the trailer lights still don't function right then the...

  • Trailer Left Side Running Lights are Dim
If it is only the running light on the left side that is dim then the most likely issue is still a weak ground. When you are testing the light are you doing so with the trailer coupled to the ball? If not, and you do try it with the trailer coupled to the ball and it starts working fine...

  • Troubleshooting Enclosed Trailer Interior Dome Lights Not Working When Connected to Tow Vehicle
Trailer interior lights are typically wired to a battery mounted on a trailer. If yours are wired in this manner, you will want to start by checking to see if the battery is fully charged and in good condition. If the dome lights are actually wired to the running lights circuit on the 7-Way, your best bet is to simply trace the wiring going there from the dome lights to check for any damaged or exposed areas that are in need of replacement. As we do not have anything that will plug directly into your plugs, the # PK11893-11933 will need to be hardwired to get everything up an running. Due to this, it would be better to go with # PK11893 and # PK11998. This is specifically a hardwire kit so you wouldn't need to cut off the rectangular plug.
