Troubleshooting Enclosed Trailer Interior Dome Lights Not Working When Connected to Tow Vehicle
Question:
I have a 2014 Silverado and a new enclosed trailer. When I connect the 7 way plug everything works except the interior dome light on the trailer. Any suggestions?

Trailer interior lights are typically wired to a battery mounted on a trailer. If yours are wired in this manner, you will want to start by checking to see if the battery is fully charged and in good condition.
If the dome lights are actually wired to the running lights circuit on the 7-Way, your best bet is to simply trace the wiring going there from the dome lights to check for any damaged or exposed areas that are in need of replacement. Make sure the connections both at the light assemblies themselves and at the 7-Way are secure. Also make sure that the power draw on the dome lights isn't too much for the running lights circuit to handle. If that is the case then you will just want to power them from a trailer mounted battery instead.
If you are still having issues please let me know and we can continue to troubleshoot.
