Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this Dutton-Lainson hand winch with automatic brake. This is a standard duty winch that is designed for horizontal pulling or vertical lifting from 50 pounds all the way up to 800 pounds. So it's gonna be perfect for your grain augers, your boat lifts and other industrial applications. The crank is going to move clockwise to lift your load. You can hear that automatic brake mechanism clicking so that as soon as we stop, it's going to be locked in place.
We're not going to have to worry about our load coming loose, and then to undo it simply turn in a counterclockwise motion. You are gonna need about 50 pounds that minimum on there for that reverse motion to work. I'm kind of stimulating that with my hand here to try and pull that back, stimulate that 50 pounds force on there, but very simple process of cranking and letting loose when you're ready to. This is made of a zinc tough plate with the base and hardware, and the reel is a powder coated steel. So it's gonna be very durable for you should last you a nice long time.
We do have this textured plastic handle sleeve here That's going to allow us a sure steady grip as we're rotating. We're not gonna have to loosen our grip at all in order to allow it to rotate. It's gonna rotate freely so we can keep it in our grip the whole time. And that texture is gonna make it much easier to hold on to. As far as our measurements go, our overall width here for going from the side of our hardware all the way up to the end of our handle, it's approximately 11 inches wide.
Our height we are gonna need a little bit bigger tape measure here. When our handle is in the lowest position, all the way up to the top, we're looking at just shy of 12 inches tall. And as far as our mounting bracket here you can see we've got a couple of different holes. We can easily bolt this in place overall width it's gonna be right up three and three quarters of an inch wide by we'll call it five inches deep. So if you are looking for a standard duty hand winch with the automatic brake like this is going to be a really great option for you, it is made here in the USA so you can trust it makes it the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the US so don't let that hold you back.
