This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this Westlake ST235/75R15 Load Range D radial trailer tire with 15 inch gun metal Condor aluminum wheel with a five arm, four and a half inch bolt pattern. This tire and wheel assembly is going to be great for your RVs, campers and trailers. This special trailer tire, or ST tire, has sturdy sidewalls, so that it can handle heavy loads. It is created specifically for trailers and not intended for use on other vehicles. This radial tire is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester plies for increased durability. Radial ply tires, as you probably know, are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway and this has a protective layer of nylon that's wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The tread wear indicator is going to make it easy to see the tread depth and as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together, and as we have stamped here on our tire, this is an ST235/75R15, and the section width is eight inches and the outer diameter when fully inflated, is 28.9 inches. This is a load range D tire, meaning it has an 8-ply rating and the maximum load is 2,910 pounds at 65 psi. And this has a speed rating of L, indicating a maximum speed of 75 miles per hour. Now, the sturdy aluminum wheel with this attractive Condor series design features a matte gun metal gray exterior. The automotive grade clear coat finish on the front protects the wheel from scuffs and scratches, and the steel inserts in the lug nut wells help keep the wheels securely in place on your trailer hub, preventing the holes from wearing down and eliminating the need for constant retightening of the lug nuts.
The rim dimensions, beginning with the diameter, from bead seat to bead seat is 15 inches, and the width of this rim is six inches. And as I mentioned, the bolt pattern is five arm, four and a half inches. And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, and that second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So, to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes as we have here, you're going to simply measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. Now, the wheel has a capacity of 2,220 pounds.
The wheel stud size is a half an inch by 20. The center cap is sold separately, but if you do pick one up, you just wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 3.19 inches. Now, this tire and wheel assembly does meet the Department of Transportation specifications. The tire meets the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard specifications and the wheel meets SAE J1204 standards. One final note that I wanna mention is that this tire and wheel assembly does come with complimentary roadside assistance for two years.
