Match Mounted and Balanced Trailer Tire Assembly
In an ideal world, tire-and-wheel assemblies would be perfectly round and even throughout. Unfortunately tires and wheels have imperfections that often cause vibrations, resulting in a rough ride and wear and tear on the assemblies, as well as on the rest of your trailer's running gear. Taskmaster helps to solve this problem by match mounting and balancing their assemblies so they're ready to roll when they reach your door.
To do this, Taskmaster uses a laser-guided machine to locate the heavy and light spots of each assembly. They then align the assembly so that lightest part of the tire is near the heaviest part of the wheel. The assembly is then rotated at high speeds to pinpoint the optimal place to apply weights to further balance the tire.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.
- If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
- If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
- If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
- If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the 15 inch by 6 inch galvanized modular steel trailer wheel with the 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this wheel's a sturdy steel construction. It is a modular design. When we say modular design, that's the one that has the round holes around the wheel.
And this wheel happen to have the galvanized finish to it. Provides a nice superior protection from rust and corrosion. It is designed to be used in marine applications. This is a nice high quality wheel. Does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications.
And just to go over a few specs on the wheel, the diameter of the wheel which will always be measured inside the inside or bead seat to bead seat. We take a tape measure, we go inside the inside. It's going to 15 inch diameter. The width on the wheel is the same way, it's bead seat to bead seat so inside the inside, it's gonna be six inches wide. Now, the bolt pattern on this wheel is a 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
And if you we're to measure that bolt pattern on a wheel that's an even number of lugs, it's pretty simple because the holes are right across from each other. So when you measure, you measure from the center of that, any hole, you pick any hole. Let's say this one, you measure from the center of this starting hole to the center of the hole right across from it. So, on this one, if we measure, it'd be 5 1/2 inches. So, it's a six lug, 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
This does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20. And the pilot hole diameter which is the large hole here in the center of the wheel, goes over the hub on your trailer, diameter of that opening is 4.27 inches. And the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,830 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the 15 inch by 6 inch galvanized modular steel trailer wheel with the 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern..

The galvanizing on these is extremely poor I have to return all 3. I have bought other brands of galvanized wheels before and non looked this bad. Unacceptable!

Built very nice. They look awesome on my trailer. Kudos to etrailer for safe and secure packing! They were totally protected and undamaged. I can’t say the same for a competitor, they sent rims loose in a box and they didn’t fare well at all and were sent back. This is one of many reasons why I trust etrailer.

Poorly executed product and delivery. Wheels are only powder coated on the face so the back of the wheels are free to rust. Wheels are advertised as powder coated. They should specify face only. The pictures in the listing show powder coat all over. Next thing is the packing. Someone thought is was a good idea to stick 2 40lb pieces of metal in the same box with nothing to protect them from each other or from outside impacts. Wheels have chips in what little powder coat there is and have flat spots around the circumference of all wheels. Very disappointed. Wish I could return and take my money elsewhere but I've heard negative stories about etrailer customer service. I'm not sure it's worth my time.

These 13" steel wheels were the perfect solution to upgrade my original , white, 12" trailer wheels from 1979. The 4 on 4 bolt pattern in 13" is just what I was looking for and only etrailer could provide it.

I ordered and received 3 steel trailer wheels I received the order 3-4 days as promised. The ordering process was very efficient and the person who worked with me was very helpful. All three wheels were in shipped in the same box with very little packing between the wheels. There was some scratches on the powder coating and the outer edges of one of the wheels is slightly damaged. Just should have been packaged better.

Great looking rim. Outside of rim was painted perfectly but back side was not powder coated evenly. Missing paint on some areas on all five rims I purchased.

The wheels powder coating is way better than I thought it would be!! They seem to be very well made as well. But I did receive one of the boxes damaged and one of the wheels has a ding in it now not sure what I should do now I’ve got a trip coming up shortly and I need these wheels on the trailer asap
