2-1/2" Diameter round. LED trailer light serves as either a side marker light or a clearance light. Built-in reflex reflector. Recessed mount with grommet (sold separately). Accepts 2-prong plug. P2 rated.
Features:
Specs:
A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.
Recessed-mount trailer lights install with a grommet, which is often sold separately. These lights extend past the trailer surface and require a hole for installation. If replacing a light, you can utilize the pre-existing hole. If installing a new light, you will need to cut a hole or use a mounting bracket (sold separately) to complete the installation.

Today we're going to take a look at the Peterson LED Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light with reflector. It's important to have a reflector and light on your trailer so that it's going to be clearly visible, even at night. You can see if I get my reflector at the right angle, it's going to just refract the light back to us making our trailer visible, even when the light's not on. There we go, you can see it reflecting there. Just make sure that we can still be seen, find our trailer, even in the dark.At the back we'll have our two prongs to connect to our wire. It's going to take a two prong pigtail, that's available separately. You can find that here at Etrailer.com.
Just plug those into the back there. It's a little bit tight at first, but just pops into place and now our wire . our light is all plugged up.You can see we'll have that single diode at the center, turn the lights out and better able to see just how bright that's going to be. Not terribly bright, but just enough that we'll still be seen. This light is P2 rated, which basically means that it can only be seen on one side of our trailer so it's .. If you think of the corner of your trailer, you can't use this as a side marker and a clearance light, it can only go on one side or the other, one side of the corner or the other, because the light is just not visible from multiple angles.
That's due to the one diode there, just can't really see it once it gets turned to the side.Again, DOT compliant, made in the USA, has a two and a half inch diameter, and measures about fifteen sixteenths of an inch deep. We go from that front face of the light to those back prongs. So just under an inch. You can also pick up a grommet to go with this light. That's just going to help to give it a little bit more road protection or protection from shocks and bumps as we go down the road. Also kind of finishes off the look of it and this will fit in a three inch hole since the grommet fits into there with that three inch diameter going on the inside of that flap.
You can pick this up using part number 142-18 through Etrailer.com.The diode also has a limited lifetime warranty from Peterson. That's going to do it for our look at the Peterson LED Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light.
