Features:
Specs:
A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side marker light.
Recessed-mount trailer lights install with a grommet, which is often sold separately. These lights extend past the trailer surface and require a hole for installation. If replacing a light, you can utilize the pre-existing hole. If installing a new light, you will need to cut a hole or use a mounting bracket (sold separately) to complete the installation.

Today we're going to take a look at the Petersen Pirana LED trailer clearance and side marker light. This is gonna have LEDs instead of an incandescent bulb. It's going to be a much more efficient and longer lasting light than you would typically have out of an incandescent bulb. There's no filaments that can break, it's gonna be more energy efficient because there's less power draw from this than your incandescent bulbs. Overall, it's just a little bit brighter. To connect this we'll have those two female prongs at the back, or female plugs, and we'll bring in our two prong male end. This is sold separately, the wiring you can find right here at etrailer.com, but it just snaps in place, makes it really easy to connect. Turn on our power, and you'll see we'll have our four diodes there.
Four, and then one in the center. This is a PC rated, which basically means that you can see it from 180 degrees or 90 degrees from the center line. That means we can use this as a a clearance and side marker light at the same time. We don't have to purchase two lights to go on either corner of our trailer, so it gives you a little dual purpose there. Just basically means it's a more visible light from the sides. This is compatible with 12 volt DC systems. Going to turn out the lights in the studio so you can see just how bright the light's gonna be.
So, pretty bright for a trailer light, not blinding but enough to make this visible even at night. So it's an amber lens over white LEDs. It is DOT compliant, and made in the USA. The light measures . two and a half inches in diameter, and then one and 3/16th in depth going from that front portion to the back of our prongs there. You can also pick up a grommet to go with the light. This is sold separately, again.
The part number for this is 142-18. This will fit into a three inch diameter hole since it has this little flange in the back that holds it in place, which is three inches in diameter. You can find that grommet and other accessories right here at etrailer.com.The power draw for this light is gonna be 0.18 amps, at 12 volts. The LEDs do have a ten year limited warranty from Petersen. That's going to do it for our look at the Petersen Pirana trailer clearance and side marker light..
