A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side marker light.
Surface-mount trailer lights install using a flange or bracket with mounting holes. These lights lay flat against the trailer surface and only require a small, often pre-existing hole, for wiring. Mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Today we are looking at the Peterson Rectangular 2 Bulb Trailer Clearance Light, part number 425800. All the metal parts are tinted brass to prevent corrosion. It has a 2,500 hour bulb which is included. The light mounts on 3 inch centers. We can remove the lens and you can see it is a single wire design that grounds to the mounting hardware.
We can go ahead and supply power to it and see what it looks like when its lit up. Attach our ground to our mounting hardware and our power supply to our wire. Now I will go ahead and turn off the lights and show you what it looks like when it is lit up when it is dark. And there you have it for the Peterson Rectangular 2 Bulb Trailer Clearance Light, part number 425800.

4" x 2" Rectangle. Incandescent trailer light serves as a clearance and side marker light. Double bullseye with premium bulbs for long life. Snap-on lens. Surface mount - hardware not included. 1-Wire design. PC rated. (2) 194 bulbs.I used this light in red and amber to replace the clearance lights on my 1970 Airstream. I thought it would be a close match to the 45 year old crumbling lights on my trailer. As it turned out, the lights were nearly an exact match to my originals, even the mounting holes lined up. However the hole in the back for the wire did not line up. I had to enlarge the hole for the wire to pass through. I used pop rivets to attach the base to the trailer and each light worked perfectly. The center light in the picture is the new one.
Perfect fit, great price, fast easy delivery. What else could you ask for. eTrailer has outstanding customer service as well.
Fit nice. Work great.
Excellent 1-wire clearance lights. Good price, too.
These lights lined up with the mounting posts on a 89 Tioga class-c motorhome, perfectly.
These lights have two bulbs, and ground off the post. On my 89 ford tioga, the rear clearance lights were ground on one post and hot on the other. I had to modify these clearance lights to ground on only one post and used a ring connector on the 1-wire, connected to the hot post. On a couple of the lights I had to solder a jumper wire on the aluminum ground strip so that both bulbs would be grounded off of one post. You'll know what I mean when you look at the light.
Otherwise, great product.
As described with a lead for the positive activation energy and grounds to trailer. Make sure you have this scenario and these lights will work perfect!
The trailer lights are great, they're great quality and were a great replacement for the old lights of my Grumman Olson
Great replacement lights
Quality product. Still shining bright.
