Today we're gonna take a look at the Peterson 6" long great white LED trailer interior cove light. Now this interior cove lighting strip provides a nice bright light to illuminate an interior space. It's perfect for enclosed trailers. Does use a molded sealing to help resist dust, moisture and vapor. Does use four white LEDs and this is compatible with 12 volt and 24 volt systems. It is a surface mount design.
Designed to mount to either a trailer wall or ceiling, and it can be mounted horizontally or vertically.Also the design of it is designed to can fit in corners real nice. The mounting hardware to install it is not included. If you see it as a two wire design. Includes the white ground wire, the black wire for power and the lead length on those wires is about 5". This part is made in the U.S.A.
A few specs on it, the light output is 300 lumens. The IP rating is IP67. Just wanna give you some dimensions on this, then we're gonna hook it up to some power just to show you how bright it is. Overall length is gonna be right at 7-11/16" long. The width, I'm gonna give you two widths.
The widest point where the brackets are, that is gonna right at 1-3/4" wide and then just the light itself width is right at 1".Again we're gonna get hook this up to some power and then we'll turn off the overhead lights. Our power wire is our . Oops. Let me go ahead and turn the power off. Then we go ahead and hook it up.
And then I'll go ahead and get the light control here. And now we'll go ahead and turn on the 12 volt power, and you can see these four LEDs how bright it is. And if I go ahead and turn off the overhead lights, you can see how many lumens it gives off for just four small LEDs. Very bright light. And again, it can be horizontal or vertical, which ever you prefer. Go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights.Turn off our power. Ordered these to add as lights inside my Decked truck bed cargo system. Work great. Note: To wire this up for a Decked cargo box inside light, you can either do a waterproof toggle switch, or go with a magnetic switch like you would use for an alarm system. I did the latter. You can tap into your bed lighting or to a constant 12vdc at the trailer harness. The magnet switches are set so that the lights turn on when I pull a drawer open, and off when I shut it. Attached some photos to show what they look like
The light itself is great! It would work better if there was a deeper recess on the bottom where it mounts to the trailer. This would help conceal the wiring and extend the light toward the rear of the trailer to better illuminate the license plate.

Have actually used used these in different setups. 2 enclosed trailers, a 10' long and 22 ' long. Also used 2 for pickup truck bed lighting mounted under the rails of a tonneau cover.

Reordered after breaking on install. It wasn’t the products fault. Someone shut the trailer door on it just prior to final install and broke the lens. Light still works! Quality product!
This was a great replacement for the original lic plate light. I did have to drill one new hole because the new light base was a tad wider than the original base. The wiring was very simple: hot and ground and it worked like a champ.
Used to replace corroded incandescent back-up lights on trailer, these work great, easy to wire in, great illumination.
