Recommended Interior Lights For An Enclosed Trailer Hauling Band Equipment

Question:

Im helping out our local high school marching band which just purchased a new enclosed trailer for their band equipment and want to have it well lite, so with your cove light, how many should we consider purchasing for a 24foot trailer? Im assuming two rows of lighting for maybe every other frame, or is that too much or not enough? With the idea of every other frame I would assume well need about 24 lights, if thats what you recommend. Thank you!

Since the Peterson Great White LED Trailer Interior Cove Light # 359-1 only has a 300 lumen rating you would most likely need 24 or more to properly light up your 24' enclosed trailer. The mounting brackets on these lights would also require you to mount them in the corner where the walls meet the ceilings.

Instead I recommend the Opti-Brite LED Dome Light # OPT98FR. These offer a 1,040 Lumen rating, which will provide a much brighter light for your trailer. They are a surface mount design so you can mount these anywhere in a ceiling and hide all the wires or just anywhere on the frame for much more versatility.

I've attached some installation videos below to help you with the installation process. In the video of the trailer with the exposed frame I only used two of these lights and moved an original light with a much lower lumen rating to the front of the trailer and was able to fully light that trailer up. If you run the lights down the center of the trailer you would most likely be good with just 10-12 lights.
