  • Troubleshooting LED Utility Lights Working When Ignition Is On But Turning Off After Starting
It sounds like some sort of ignition issue in the wiring. You will most likely need to have this checked at a service center for them to determine if your ignition switch may need replaced or if there is an issue with the ECU.

  • GMC Canyon Trailer Connector Not Reading LED Lamp-Equipped Trailer
It's hard to speculate, not knowing the model year of your Canyon but I'd be willing to take a guess... In the most recent model years, truck manufacturers such as Ford and GM have begun using so called 'smart' trailer connectors that will not 'read' a trailer unless the connector senses a draw above a certain load. Using a couple of incandescent bulbs on your running lamp circuit would certainly add to the load, and has provided a solution to this issue for others. Others have had luck...

  • Are Load Resistors Required when Adding LED Lights to a Trailer
You may not even need load resistors to switch to LED lights. The best thing to do is to try the lights without load resistors first. No need to purchase something you may not need until you know need it. Load resistors such as # DI34ZR dissipate heat through the body of the resistor. Wrapping them with insulation would prevent them from dissipating heat properly. You could put them in a battery or junction box though. Load resistors increase the amperage draw on a circuit. If you are...

  • LED Replacement Light Recommendation For Bargman 68 Round 4-1/2 Inch Trailer Lights
We have four different round LED stop, turn and tail lights that will fit in the 4-1/2 inch diameter holes in your rear bumper. You could use the Optronics light, # STL23RB, # STL43RB, # STL53RCB or # STL23CCRB. These are 4 inch round lights, but they require a rubber grommet, # A45GB, that allows 4 inch round lights to flush mount in a 4-1/2 inch cutout. Lights # STL43RB and # STL53RCB are sealed, submersible lights if you are adding these lights to a boat trailer. All of these lights...

  • Troubleshooting Running Lights on Trailer Not Working After Swapping to LED Lights
It is not necessary to install load resistors on a trailer that had it's bulb type swapped from incandescent to LED. Most likely you just need to ground the running light circuit or there is a short on it somewhere to cause it to not function properly. First thing you should do at this point is test the 4-way of the wiring harness with a circuit tester part # PTW2993 for voltage on all of the right pins when the taillight signals are being applied. Just like in the video I attached. If...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes on Horse Trailer
I'm unsure what you mean by a 'manual' brake controller. Could you perhaps mean that your truck has the factory brake controller built into the dash? If that's the case, some factory brake controllers have proven to be problematic. Some have been so problematic that Tekonsha came out with a tech bulletin showing folks how to bypass the OE brake controller and install and aftermarket unit, which I'll link you to. In my experience, some vehicles with the OE brake controllers are just more...

  • Pulling a Trailer With LED Lights and the Vehicle is Reading Lamps Out
Though we do recommend having a resistor on each LED light, we do have other options as well. Since you mentioned having a 7 Way connector, you could use a lamp out sensor adapter like the # 20142 if the trailer is wired with a 7 Way plug or a # C35FR if you have a 4 Flat or 5 Flat plug on the trailer. These have all the needed pieces to trick the vehicle's computers into working with LED lights on the trailer. That being said, you could spice resistors into each of the wires attached...

  • Do LED Turn Signals Need Load Resistors When Installed on a Jeep Wrangler
Yes, you will need a load resistor for each LED bulb you install on a turn signal circuit. I checked your order and it looks like you bought a total of 4 LED lights, because of that I would recommend you get two sets of LED Light Bulb Load-Resistors # DI34ZR. I attached installation instructions and a couple pictures for this product that shows how it installs.

  • Trailer Lamps of Multiple Trailers Flash When 2020 Chevy Silverado is Switched Off
Are the taillights on your trailer LED's? If so, this could explain the issue you're experiencing. Ford and Chevy developed 'smart' trailer connectors over the last few model years that seem to be anything but smart. LED trailer lights can wreak havoc with these systems because of the very low power draw of LED lamps. If this is the cause of your problem installing load resistors in the turn signal/brake lamp circuits of the trailer will increase the load on the circuit and solve the problem....

  • Troubleshooting LED Trailer Lights Not Functioning Consistantly
For your light tear trailer the LED lights could be the issue requiring a load resistor to draw more power than the LED for correct function, but we don't have enough information to confirm since at times they work fine, or not at all, while at other times they blink. It sounds more like a short in your wiring or a bad ground connection. Normally if it were just the need for load resistors you would have the blinking but they would always still have power. It really sounds like a bad...

  • Does Connector Need to Change When Converting to LED Trailer Light
Do you mean the main trailer connector? Or what specifically are you asking about? If you have the standard 3 plug that the # STL53RCB uses like part # A47PB you would not need to replace it as this is not an LED specific connector.
