Today, we're going to be reviewing part number BUL11CB. This is the LED Back-Up Light from Optronics. The light is certified for backup light function when installed as a pair in a two lamp system. It's going to feature the long lasting LEDs that are going to be great replacements for incandescent lights. It's also going to feature a multi dial design that's going to optimize your light output. You don't have to worry about replacing any bulbs and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments. The LED system is more efficient.
It's going to provide a brighter light while using less power. It's going to feature a sealed waterproof one piece inaudible 00:00:32 plastic housing with a durable lens unit. It is a corrosion resistant design. Here on the back, you're going to see that it will accept your industry standard two-prong plug. That's going to be sold separately. Optronics puts all three-pong connections here on the back of their lights.
Even though this calls for a two-prong plug, you're going to want to see a three-prong connection point. Don't let that confuse you. You're going to be safe getting a two-prong plug. It's going to cover up the third connection point to keep any dirt and grime out. It only uses one function, which is going to be your reverse light and then the other connection for the two-prong plug is going to be your ground connection. It calls for a two-prong plug even though it has a three-pong connection.
That's just Optronics putting on the three-prong connection, instead of making a specific two-prong connection point. It makes it very simple to upgrade from incandescent lights. It is Department of Transportation compliant, so it meets FMVSS108 requirements in any 360 degree position. It's a nice round light, giving us an overall diameter of 4 and 5/16ths of an inch. It's going to give us an overall depth, including the connection point at the back of 1 and 5/8ths of an inch. It's going to contain ten diodes, which are going to be your LEDs with a power draw of 0.260 AMPs at 12.8 Volts. It is a flush mount installation with a grommet that's sold separately, part number A45GB.
If you need a two-wire pigtail plug, or the two-prong connection, you can find those right here at etrailer.com. You can get a straight angle with part number 845CDB or a right angle with part number 849PB. We're going to go ahead and hook it up to our external power source. That way, you can see what the light looks like with power running to it and with our overhead lights turned off. You can see here that we have the two-prong plug. We're simply going to connect it here at the back. You can see with it connected, it covers up that third prong that's not used. That way it's going to keep it nice and sealed. Keep any dirt or grime from being able to get into that connection point. When we activate the reverse function, we can see that it sends out a nice clear consistent LED signal. This is a nice white, bright light with that clear lens. It allows a lot of that light to come through and the system also has a really quick response time. Recessed mount with grommet (not included).Evrything came on time and was super easy, as always. The 3rd or 4th order of mine from etrailer worked out great. As a small business owner/operator who makes his living through careful planning and consideration of circumstances, my personal opinion is that these guys run a tight ship, and always seem to do what they say they're going to do.
They must've suffered a lot from the results of not paying attention to reality if they're this good at running this supply site now...
Once we replaced the backup lights on our work trucks with these the crews stopped complaining about not being able to see enough light when backing up. These lights are bright and light up everything behind you.
Used these on a Knapheide service bed works very well replaces factory back up lights only way to go.
