Kit includes 17-3/8" long equalizers and necessary bolts and shackles for suspending your leaf springs from your trailer frame. Use with HAP-105-00 for a complete tandem-axle kit. Designed for use with 9,000-lb Dexter axles.


Features:

  • Attaches 4 leaf springs (sold separately) to your trailer frame
  • Includes:
    • (2) 4-1/2" Tall center hangers with 1" bolt holes (29-39-4)
    • (2) 17-3/8" Long straight equalizers (13-118-03)
      • Allows for 42-1/4" between axles
      • 1" Diameter center hole for mounting to hanger
      • 5/8" Diameter side hole for attaching to spring
    • (2) 3-1/4" Long x 5/16" diameter spring keeper bolts (7-7)
    • (2) 5/16" Diameter locknuts (6-11)

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at the Dexter Tandem Axle Trailer Equalizer Kit for two inch Slipper Springs. Now this kit here will include the two 17 and three eights inch long equalizers and the necessary bolts and hangers for suspending your lease springs from your trailer frame. Now this is designed to be used with the part number HAP-105-00 for a complete Tandem Axle kit, and we do sell that part number separately. I'm going to pop up an insert.

That part number actually contains the front and rear hangers and mounting hardware to make this a complete kit. And again, we sell that part separately, and it's usually listed on this product page as a related product. Now this is designed for use with Tandem 9000 pound Dexter axles. Basically, this will attach four leaf springs to your trailer frame. And the leaf springs are not included, you would've to supply those.

This kit here will include these two 17 and three eights inch long straight equalizers. And just to show you, if we measure the total length, measures your 17 and three eights inches. When these are installed it'll basically allow for 42 and a quarter inches between your axles. These do have a one inch diameter center hole for mounting to the hangar, and then a five eights inch diameter side hole for attaching to the spring. Also comes with these two four and a half inch tall center hangers that have the one inch diameter bolt holes.

And when we say four and a half inches tall, that measurement is from the center of this bolt hole to the top of the hangar. It does come with these two three and a quarter inch long five 16ths spanner spring keeper bolts with lock nuts. Comes with these two four and a half inch long five eights inch diameter spring eye bolts with lock nuts also. And then comes with these large two five inch long one inch diameter equalizer bolts with the lock nuts also. Now, this kit does not include the components from mounting the axle to the springs.

  • Is It Normal for New Trailer Equalizers To Be Cracking After 10,000 Miles
    That's definitely not normal at all, especially for your trailer being as new as it is. Unfortunately, you are going to need to replace these, so what you can do is either see if it's covered under warranty, or replace them yourself. If you plan to replace them yourself, you'll just need to measure the horizontal distance from left to right on the bolt holes, as well as the vertical distance between them.     Sounds like you are describing the Redline 17-3/8" Long Equalizer for 2" Wide Slipper Springs # 13-118-03. This can either be ordered in a quantity of 2 or if you need to replace your hangers you can get the Kit # HAP-205-02 instead.
