Hitch receiver tube is longer than the other Curt hitches and will extend farther out from the vehicle so accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers extend past the spare tire. No drilling required for installation , Access holes may need to be enlarged by drilling, filing, or rotary tool , Exhaust must be temporarily lowered for installation , Any obstructions on the cross member, such as excess welding, will need to be removed for installation

Product packaging for shipping is probably the worst I've seen. Box was delivered damaged with a hole (opening) to the inside of the box. Opened the box and there was absolutely no padding whatsoever. Bag holding the assembly hardware was open. Bolts, nuts, and washers were loose within the box. And, to top it off, some of the installation hardware is missing. Most likely fell out of the hole in the packaging. Who in their right mind would think it's okay to package goods for shipping in this manner? This was my first and possibly my last purchase from etrailer.

I am sorry to hear that your order was not secured properly during the shipment. Let me get you over to customer service for them to get this corrected for you.
Installed on 2017 Jeep Wrangler 2 - door. Easy install. Factory bolts lined up with slotted hitch holes. Was able to get wrench up between hitch and muffler and did not need to take muffler off as suggested in the instructions. Make sure you have a torque wrench that goes to 110 ft/lbs. That is tight.
The hitch was installed with no problems. The brake buddy was short on wiring instructions. The diagram was not clear and the written instructions stopped short of explaining how the wires come together. Had to watch the video to finish. But, it all worked out well.
great customer service. I needed a trailer hitch that was a little out of the ordinary. Etrailer told me what i needed to know. In fact they were the only people who would talk to me. The manufacturer, Curt would not give me any dimensions of there hitches. All they would say is "our hitches are designed to fit a particular vehicle". Maybe that's a CYA policy?

In the photo the hitch is just sitting on top of the bumper. I have yet to mount it.
The hitch receiver fit per the original from the factory but there was not two holes for the mounting of the wiring harness bracket, just one hole so the wiring harness bracket is supported with just one bolt rather the intended two bolts.
We both this hitch to add to our 2020 wrangler jlu so we can pull the skis. Needless to say it was a perfect fit and came with all the hardware necessary to install. Highly recommend this hitch.
Had to install 2” drop extender to be able to open the tailgate and it came out great.

Keep in mind, installing any extender will lower the tongue weight capacity of the hitch listed on ID sticker affixed to hitch by half.

I’m trying to install this hitch but when I went under, I saw these two screws (see attached). I’m not sure what it is and if it’s ok to remove, install the hitch and put it back. I have a 2018 JL Rubicon unlimited.

I spoke with my representative in the tech services department at Curt Manufacturing and was told that its perfectly acceptable to remove the 2 bolts shown in the photos you provided and substituting them with the bolts provided with the hitch.

Fit like a glove !!!!!! Never had to move the exhaust muffler off the hangers !!!!!!! Plenty of room for the bolts. Used a short 3/4 inch socket on a torque wrench with again plenty of room !!!!!!
Great qualifications, easy install. I have a Jeep JL wrangler Sahara so the outside bolts were already present with the welded on nuts.on a plate behind the cross member. Just lightly pries out the plate, Slipped the hitch between it and the cross member. And threaded the bolts tbrough. Use the original bolts as they are a different thread and head size.
Wonderful quality and great finish. No grinding, pounding, or retrofitting needed. Slipped right in.

Hitch arrived on time, the black finish stands out and accents my Black Jeep. Hitch is long enough from the bumper that my bike rack doesn't hit the spare tire. Would recommend this product.
Hitch receiver fit perfectly onto my 2020 Jeep Wrangler. Used my floor jack and a scrap piece of 2in x 6in board to provide a steady platform to literally jack my hitch receiver into place. Had an interesting time trying to torque bolts to XXX ft-lbs, but I got it done. Excellent fit and finish!!
Super easy installation. As another reviewer stated, 110 lbs of torque was the only challenge without a lift. I did it all from underneath on my back. No need to drop the muffler.
The hitch I originally ordered was no longer being made so Etrailer recommended this one. They made the process really easy to get the old order cancelled and new one placed.
As far as this hitch goes, install takes about 10 mins. As others have mentioned, the fit is tight and you’ll need a mallet or hammer. I got the driver side on, set the bolt loosely, and hammered the passenger side on and installed the other 3 bolts. With the driver side bolt set, everything lined up perfectly once hammered on.
This hitch does allow me to attach my Yakima EXO carrier with the cargo box and the rear door opens completely. It did not require a hitch extension like the factory hitch does so this one will be a better option if you’re trying to add the EXO system and don’t want to lose carrying capacity by adding an extension to your receiver.
Wow! The hitch receiver was exactly what I ordered and it fits my 2021 Wrangler Willys perfectly. Did not need to enlarge holes or drop exhaust. It is very well fabricated and powder coated. And it came with a wonderful little surprise as an extra!
One side of the hitch would not slide all the way up the bumper beam. Had to use a hammer and some hard strikes to get it all the way up.
This is a Great product! I received it within three days of my order and was able to install it within 20 minutes with just a 3/4" ratchet and a 3/4" wrench. This was installed on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. All holes matched up perfectly !
