Recommended Curt Trailer Hitch for 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Sport
Question:
To whom it may concern: I have a 2018 Wrangler Sport JL. I have converted it to be towed with my RV. The Wrangler was fit with a Roadmaster Base plate and wired with the diode kit. I want to fit the rear end with a tow receiver Curt Trailer Hitch and wiring kit. Will the 118786 work or will I have any problems wiring this to the diode system? Regards,

You can install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118786 on your 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Sport so long as the flat tow wiring kit you used does not connect behind the tail lights, which you will need in order to install Harness # 118786. The diodes themselves will not be an issue as they are essentially just a gateway.
A trailer hitch is also compatible with a flat tow set up and since you mentioned a Curt hitch I strongly recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13392 because of its extended receiver, which you can see in the accompanying photo. This receiver is going to allow you the use of a much wider variety of accessories and will be much easier to use for all purposes than a hitch with a short receiver like the Curt Trailer Hitch # 13432.
This is a 2" hitch that is a bolt-on installation so no drilling in your Wrangler is required. It has a 3,500 lb towing capacity, 350 lb tongue weight capacity, is made in the USA and comes with a lifetime warranty.
