The box was destroyed but other than some missing paint I don't think anyone could hurt this hitch because it's a tank. I would like suggestions on what paint to use for touching up the scratches.

I bought it to replace the 2 1/2 inch OEM hitch (2015 F350) which is nowhere near this capable. I'm looking forward to installing it and no longer worrying about tongue weight limitations. As always thanks etrailer! You remain one of the best companies I've ever dealt with.

by:

Well built hitch and very easy to install. Needed a hitch capable of towing a 12K loaded toy hauler and this hitch easily handles the load. Very happy with it after using it for the last year.

by:

Wanted a 2.5 receiver for my 2001 Super Duty. Went through two different DrawTite receivers first. The first one had a crooked receiver tube. Never tried to install. The second one I tried to install but it hit the bumper before being able to tighten up to the frame. etrailer was great about sending prepaid labels to ship back. Just a pain to have to re-wrap and take to UPS drop-off. etrailer would not send the Curt as a replacement. Got credited for the DrawTite hitch and I ordered the Curt Hitch. Had it installed in 20 minutes. Factory wiring harness mount bolted right up. Curt hitch is well built and seems to have a better finish than the DrawTite.

by:

Seems to be good so far the powder coating or paint is still in good shape and we get alot of salt on our roads, so that’s a plus and so far the pin hole has not wallowed put I don’t tow super heavy 10kish but it’s been good so far

by:
2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty

I used this to replace my factory Ford 2 1/2 inch hitch. This thing is twice as heavy and has a lot more rating. I strapped this monster to my motorcycle jack and installed by myself. I tow a 26 ft. deck over triple axle trailer. Thank You.

by:

The hitch is working great. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I had to use some bolts & hardware off of the old hitch. The new hardware didn't fit in some places due to tight clearances. But I was able to install it fine. Thanks for checking up. This reminds me that I need to get back up there & check to make sure everything is right & tight!

by:

So far so good! Easy installation and fit my truck as advertised. With proper 2-1/2" hitches (vs adapters) the connection is solid. I'll never exceed the capacity of the hitch receiver, so I expect it to last. A few rust bits where the coating has been disrupted, but so far holding up to New England winter/dirt roads

by:

My hitch came in 2 days and was exactly as described. Super happy with e trailer. Love the instruction videos, very helpful.

by:

Its been a very solid hitch for my 99 f350 7.3 SRW diesel.
I have towed a 14k dump trailer with a SY35U mini excavator with 2 buckets in it and its been exactly what I needed!

by:
2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Curt receivers are great quality, plus etrailer had my order shipped the same day and was delivered the next day!

One lesson learned for me was this particular hitch (15810) does not fit with the spare tire on a 2008 F-250.

Thanks again for a great product and extremely fast shipping and customer service! I definitely recommend using etrailer over large box stores.

You are absolutely correct, Joshua. Spare tires larger than 20 inches will not be able to be stored in the original location underneath the vehicle.

2000 FordF-350 Super Duty

The hitch has held up nicely for the year that I have had it on my truck. It is very stout. The paint has held up well to the elements so far.
It went on fairly easily and all of the holes lined up. It was helpful to have a second person to help hold the hitch in place in order to get the first bolts in.
I purchased this hitch when I realized that the hitch that came with my truck was only rated at 3500lbs, a fair bit less than the trailer I tow..
The box that it came in barely held up to the shipping monkeys on the way out to the Seattle area.

by:
1999 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

The Curt 20,000 pound commercially rated receiver is is built like a battleship! And while it was difficult to man handle alone, I was able to install it using the eight supplied bolts in about 20 minutes. The fit was positively perfect, so someone at Curt did their homework on the design. The only complaint I have is that unlike my Reese Hitch, it did not include the 2" reducer sleeve. A lousy $15 difference! Don't be cheap, for this kind of money it should be included. Now I get to pay $25 in shipping for a $15 part.

2017 Chevrolet Traverse

Ordered Thursday evening just before Memorial Day weekend, and arrived Tuesday afternoon. Was shipped out very quickly with update emails through the entire process! Although the box was a bit torn up from shipping the hitch was still in great shape with all hardware and the wiring for another vehicle I ordered, in the box. Hitch is amazing quality, VERY heavy duty, and bolted right into place! I did have to forgo the nice factory wiring/plug mount and zip tie them into place, but other than that it was a perfect bolt on affair! Will definitely do business with these folks again

by:

Great product and fits great

by:
2006FordF-350 Super Duty

Item was delivered quickly with all the bolts and it fit my truck perfectly.

by:

Excellent build quality and installation was very easy. Needed an extra set of hands during install due to the weight of the receiver.

by:

Awesome website, they made the process simple, kept me updated with emails, and delivered the product on time. Companies like this that handle their end, and keep good communication are things we need more of. 10/10

by:

All around great first time experience! Mike was great and the product showed up way before I was expecting and it fit perfectly.

2005 FordF-350 Super Duty

This unit fit so perfectly on my 2005 f-350 srw. Once again I'm impressed with this company and how quick it came in. Anything I ever need for a trailer I will do business with these people

by:
1999 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Heavy duty receiver. Easy install, but definitely need two people because it is heavy. Will handle all my trailers.

by:

Thank you very much!

by:
2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Fits the 2001 Ford F250 really well. It's quite a bit larger than the class 4 hitch we removed.

by:

Order came super quick, looks and fits great! Was able to do by myself with help from a strap and a couple clamps.

by:

I’ve never had any issues with the hitch, it’s very solid for heavier towing, all around a good product

by:
2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Great solid hitch. Easy to install on 02 F250. Is tight around factory wiring receiver and have to nudge spare forward to go up all the way. Make sure you run the nut all the way up and down the bolts with a wrench before trying to put them on the truck, the zinc coating makes it really tight. Use the red locktite after aligning the hitch with the frame as extra assurance.

so far only used it to pull a tree out! it definitely stiffens the [rear] end up nicely though after not having a hitch for a while and noticing the frame twist.

  • Comparing Curt Trailer Hitches for a 2001 Ford F-350
The difference is that Curt trailer hitch # C15845 is designed to fit cab and chassis style trucks and # C15810 is designed to fit regular pickup truck models. Cab and chassis trucks are the ones you might see on a lot that do not have a bed on them. They turn those into service trucks, utility trucks, and emergency vehicles. The frame rails are closer together on cab and chassis trucks than on regular pickup models. The frame width on a cab and chassis model 2001 Ford F-350 will be 34...

If your 2015 Ford F350 has the 2-1/2 inch hitch, you can use the Reese Titan # RP45292 Hitch Box Extension and Reducer. The extension is designed so that it can either be used in its 34 inch configuration or be cut down to 24 inches in length, which is perfect for your needs. When cut down to 24 inches, the extender has a 6000 lb towing capacity or if used with a weight distribution system, the capacity increases to 8000 lbs which would work well. If your truck has a 2 inch hitch, replacing...

  • Recommended Hitch for 2006 Ford F-350 Towing Dump Trailer
For a hitch that can handle that much weight I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15810. This is a Class V hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 20,000 lbs and max tongue weight of 2,700 lbs. However, if you have a spare tire 20" or larger it will not be able to be stored in the original location under the truck. Make sure to consult your owner's manual to find the towing capacity for your F-350. The most the 2006 can tow is 15,000 lbs, but for some models the capacity is lower.

  • Recommended Class V Hitch for 2001 Ford F-350 Long Bed Pickup
The Curt # C15845 Class V hitch you'd looked at fits cab and chassis model trucks only, because cab and chassis trucks use a narrower frame spread (outside to outside distance between frame members) than the pickup models do. For a 2001 F-350 Long bed pickup, use the Curt Class V hitch, part # C15810. The hitch has the same 20K towing 2.7K tongue weight capacity and 2-1/2 inch receiver as the hitch you'd looked at, but it will fit your frame spread. The hitch will install using existing...

I spoke with my technical contact at Curt and he informed me that the Curt Hitch # C15810 will fit spare tires with a wheel size of less than 20 inches.
