This completely hidden, custom-fit hitch installs behind your vehicle's rear bumper so that the cross tube is always out of sight. Receiver easily removes when not in use. Aluminum and steel alloy construction is durable and eco-friendly.

Specs:
The EcoHitch Stealth trailer hitch is designed to be completely out of sight when you're not towing. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind your rear bumper. No drilling or welding is required. Once installed, the cross tube will be completely concealed and only the receiver will be visible beneath your bumper. But unlike other hitches with hidden cross tubes, the Stealth goes one further. You can remove the receiver portion of the hitch for a completely out-of-sight setup. To mount the receiver, just insert it up into the access port that is built into the cross tube. Secure the receiver to the hitch with the supplied bolt and washers. When you're done towing, just remove the receiver portion to return your vehicle to its clean, factory appearance.
With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will stand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.
This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Stealth trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

This completely hidden, custom-fit hitch installs behind your vehicle's rear bumper so that the cross tube is always out of sight. Receiver easily removes when not in use. Aluminum and steel alloy construction is durable and eco-friendly.The hitch has been great, I used it all last summer for my bike rack, It has been easy to remove and is well built fits great on my Tesla Model S.
Hold up well just need to be carefully going up on steep driveway because it will hit the receiver.
Best remove the receiver when it is not in use.
Otherwise, I tried with 3 bikes and I do feel the weight and I think best stay with maximum 2 bikes.
Had to use a hammer to get a ball mount in and back out the first couple times. Also there are easier ways than sliding the removable part up in there and then having to lay on the ground in order to secure it with the bolt at proper torque. Manufacturer should check out some of the nifty European designs for hitches like that.
The hitch arrived in excellent shape and great quality. No scratches and a good paint job. The hitch installed just as the instructions indicated, with no unexpected surprises. Great job!

A year latter, and things are working out as expected. No issues, works great.
This is a serious hitch. Heavy solid steel. The mounting video is fantastic. Removing the bottom pans without a lift is a pain but doable.
I had to make the bumper hole larger to fit a wrench on the right angle adapter bolt. Otherwise no issues.
One star off for bad instructions. The location of the hole was incorrectly specified and my installer called and checked and got back the same wrong number. So the hole was cut in the wrong place. I need to cut out even more to get access to hook up the safety chains. Not a happy camper. I have an older (2014) Model S.
We appreciate having a solid option to travel with our bikes using a Küat 2 bike carrier with the Hi-Lo attachment. Our independent mechanic shop did the installation. Awareness is required for potential low clearance situations to avoid dragging the receiver, but that is more due to the low Tesla S vehicle clearance which can be improved by manually activating the high level for the air suspension.
Seems like a well engineered product. My intended use is for a hitch mounted bike rack, not for any towing. I see one other user rated the install as a 10 out of 10 for difficulty. I have a friend whose job is removing bumper covers for repairs. He rated it about a 5 out of ten for difficulty. There are a lot of fasteners, so it just takes a while. Patience. He had no issues at all keeping the various fasteners straight on the reassemble. He did not use jacks, jack stands or a creeper. Just a movers pad for his knees and elbows.
We had to use a rat tail file to enlarge one of the holes in one of the included reinforcing angle brackets. After reassembly, there was a very slight bulge from the hitch where it was pressing ever so slightly on the black plastic lower fascia. I couldn’t face taking the entire bumper cover off again so I’m going to leave it and over time if it damages the plastic I’ll fix it then.
Several years ago apparently there was an issue with electrolysis between the hitch and aluminum portions of the body. The kit included some non conductive washers that completely addresses that problem.
It’s a huge bonus to be able to use a trailer hitch mounted bike rack. Too bad tesla won’t make one. Quality product.
The hitch I received did not fit the Tesla because the plates were welded backwards.
Torklift was extremely responsive and shipped me another hitch out that same day after I notified them. I received the new hitch the next day by 2p. Installed it that afternoon with out a problem.
First off etrailer has top notch customer service. I accidentally ordered the 1 1/4” hitch vs 2” and they turned around my updated order in a day. Incredibly responsive and helpful proper work there.
As for the hitch, it looks and works great. I DIY installed it in 2 hours using the video along the way. It’s a fairly straightforward install so long as your mechanical. Honestly the install is 5/10 from mechanical perspective and 8/10 from detail perspective. I didn’t use ramps or a lift and had no issues whatsoever accessing the underside.
Highly recommend the hitch and etrailer
Haven't installed yet, but so far the product has been as advertised.
Awesome solid rack. Some discrepancies on tongue weight.. I've seen 300 and 200lbs. The sticker on the rack says 300lbs, and I definitely believe that figure. I'm using it to mount a bike rack on a 2016 Tesla Model S and I'm super happy with the results.
Installation took just under 3 hours working at a pretty leisurely pace, the video was super helpful! My only feedback is the whole "assembly is the reverse of disassembly" comment. Thats just a real kick in the teeth to write in instructions. But I played the video backwards and managed to get it all back together without any missing hardware!
I called to confirm that the hitch would fit the NEW 2021 Tesla Model S PLAID. I was put on hold for a while then you came back and said YES it is confirmed to fit the new refresh model. NO it does not fit. Not even close. Now I paid a shop to install and instead wasted 2 hours of time and money! New Plaid has only 4 bolts and will not line up with supplied hitch! Never got to install teh wiring kit as hitch was wrong!
Install went perfect. Been using for 1 year with 2 place ebike rack (my ebikes are 72 lbs each). It's been perfect and stable.
A challenge to install. It hits the ground on steep approaches. Nice to be able to haul bikes. Note:A bike on the back of the car reduces freeway range by 20% due to wind resistance! Roof mounted bike racks offer slightly better aero. I have not tried removing the Seat, maybe will help. Going camping a great distance away with bikes on the tesla is a risky idea. (the tesla is a great camping vehicle otherwise).
It fit very well on 2016 Tesla model s and real easy to install. It take 30 to 45 mins to install.
Not a great experience. I purchased a trailer hitch for a 2021 Tesla S but they change the frame on the car so the trailer hitch didn’t fit and I had to have it Jerry rig to get it to work.

I show that this hitch is a fit for a 2012 – 2021 Tesla Model S. I recommend taking a look at the video installation that we have on a 2017 Tesla Model S.
I love that I can remove replace the receiver with just a ratchet anytime. Driving around rough city streets and dips and bumps It really helps with the low clearance vehicle to just have it off until I need it. Works great.

I still like this after one year. Im glad I spent the extra money for the removable receiver hitch. The car looks nicer without a trailer hitch but when I need it its right in the trunk.
The trailer hitch has been great on the back of my Tesla. The problem of low clearance is not due to the hitch but due to the super low tesla. Used a riser to bring up the height of it where it connects. Otherwise totally happy with the product, would recommend it, and we use it every day.
The hitch mounts too low and as a consequence, it is too easy for it to scrape the ground.
Overall really good on my 2015 Tesla Model S. It is very low to the ground, and have scraped it hard backing over curb cuts at driveways, but I have been removing the receiver since I am only using it for a bike rack currently.
A couple of issues...don't follow the video regarding flipping the sensor over if applicable. The paper instructions clarify if you have a beam, the sensor needs to be mounted where a chunk of metal is not between the sensor and plastic bumper/facia.
Second...the packaging was very...optimistic. I large chunk of metal in a box and barely connected to the box. The result was that the bag of hardware split open and half of the pieced disappeared out of the box through the handholds. ETrailer sent me the replacement bag of hardware, but it took several weeks while the initial order was just a matter of days...delaying my ability to install it by almost a month.
The hitch is ok but has some flaws. Customer service from etrailer is inadequate. They sell you the product and then you’re on your own. My hitch makes squeaking noises and has been off center / tilted from day one - not sure if this is normal. I had it mounted by uhaul. Of course I contacted etrailer, sent them photos, called and emailed them a bunch of times, but got no response from them so I gave up. I’m living with the hitch and it’s functioning as described above.

I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.
Hitch is perfect! Clearance is low, but this is a function of the car ('15 Tesla Model S). High quality unit for sure.
Candidly, the package arrive petty beat up and inside the metal bar and stickers were damaged. Not enough to matter as nothing is ultimately visible, but enough that I thought the hitch may have been opened and returned by a previous customer. If not for online videos, I would not have been able to install using the enclosed instructions. First, each year of the car has different nuances that are not accounted for. Second, the black and white photos are not clear enough to be useful. In 2022 why can't you have clear color photos? If not sent with the product, then available via download? The product seems good. Too bad the surrounding elements of shipping and installation instructions are so poor.

I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you. I do not have a color picture manual to offer. I recommend what you have recommended in watching the video installation that we have done on a 2017 Tesla model S.
Great directions, I called and had them sent via email so as to see them in color and zoom in. My suggestion is to cut the hole longer than suggested so as to get a socket wrench on the bolt. The template is larger (4 1/2”) then the 4” suggestion, use it. FYI the template is placed on the outside bottom of the bumper not it’s inside.

Very easy to remove and install. I keep it off because I bottom-out at my driveway apron and less weight is always better with an EV.

The hitch works fine. Towed several trailers with different loads. It is rattling loud if the trailer doesnt have plenty tongue weight. I installed a anti-rattling device for the ball mount and that helped some. The problem is that there is also play between the hitch and the receiver that needs installed when towing. That system has some play creating rattles and is also inconvenient to install, as I have to lie to install it. I wish it would have what Ive seen on european style hitches where the ed part is cone shaped and self locks. The cone shaped part eliminates the rattle at this point.
