Today we'll be taking a look at the Undercover Access Hole Cover for the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver. This is going to work for your Tesla Model S to cover up that access hole that has to be cut out in the back to get access to your hitch. That's the nice thing about the EcoHitch stealth is that it does hide up under your bumper whenever you remove that receiver tube, but then you've got that hole that just hangs out back there, so this is going to clean that up and make the rest of your bumper look more factory. It comes with two brackets. So it will work for the 1-1/4" and the 2" versions. Those two hitch part numbers are available here at etrailer.com. The 2" version is 306-X7201 and then the 1-1/4" is 306-X7202. This works for the 2012 through 2016 Model S.
That's going to be the pre-refresh in 2016 and newer, that would be the refresh Model S. So if you need a cover for the refresh, that is a separate part number which you can also find here at etrailer.com.Basically the way this works, we'll have this aluminum panel that's actually going to make up most of our cover. And then we'll have this rubber seal going all the way around, so it's going to keep out most dirt and debris from getting up in there, and just causing any issues as far as gunking up that trailer hitch receiver. It also helps to prevent wind noise, because that hole can kind of act like a whistle, or a wind instrument, so it's going to keep that wind noise to a minimum. It's made of aluminum, so we don't have to worry about that rusting out and it's still going to be durable and lightweight. The hardware for this is stainless steel, so again, no worries about rust.
It will have a nice black powder coat finish over everything. Has kind of a hammered texture to match with the underbody panel of our Tesla. It comes with the Allen key to get our screw tightened down. And basically, the way this works, again, is that this is going to just attach into that hole, and then it has a strong magnet on this side to keep it in place and keep it from falling out while you're out on the road. That's going to go into that receiver that would take your receiver tube from your stealth hitch.Excuse me, this is actually for the other bolts, not for the magnet. That's for the button head bolts that come on the front.
So this is smart, they put button head bolts on the outside, so makes it a little bit less noticeable there. Now as far as measurements, the cover measures about 10" wide by 6" tall. The panel, just the metal part, is 1/8" thick, with that rubber seal it's about 1/2". That rubber is going to resist any kind of cracking or freezing, so even if we're in sub-zero temperatures, we'll still be able to keep our hitch protected. And that's going to do it for our look at the Undercover Access Hole Cover for EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receivers.
