Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Jeep Wrangler

It was easy to install and came with good installation instructions. I would recommend this trailer hitch for Jeep Wrangler TJ.

by:

The trailer hitch matched up to the frame perfectly, the bolts went in with no problems. I couldn't have been more pleased with alignment. Received hitch in less than a week.

by:

I have had this hitch for over a year. I love it. I have a luggage rack attached to it and use it year-round. I find it so handy for extra storage with my Jeep Wrangler. I have no issues. The bolts are pretty rusty looking (I live in the north where roads are salted in the winter) so I recommend coating them with some kind of protection. My brother installed this for me. My vehicle was 20 years old at the time this was added.

by:

A true bolt on hitch, took about 1hr.to connect. It's a solid reciver and since it bolts to the frame there's no worries about it not holding up to the task.

Hitch works great, out of the way and very solid.

1999 Jeep Wrangler

I received your trailer hitch yesterday.I am very satisfied. It was very easy to install. Took me less than 1.5 hours including the wiring kit. The instructions were clear and concise and specific to my vehicle with no bad grammar like you get with the Chinese products. It was obvious whoever wrote these instructions had actually installed this hitch on a 99 jeep Wrangler. ( those nuts with the handles to install inside the frame were a clever touch.) I did have to ream the upper frame holes a bit to get the bolts in- took 2 minutes.- I would recomend this hitch to anyone. I loved the promt free shipping.

1999 Jeep Wrangler

Solid and well-made hitch, hooked up easy ,matched up everything on my frame of my jeep wrangler ,definitely recommend this bumper

by:
1999 Jeep TJ

Super easy install, 20 minutes including cutting old bolts from old hitch. Nice product and packaging but arrived dinged and scratched. Not etrailers fault though. Would buy from again

by:

Product was exactly as advertised, complete with all necessary hardware. All mounting holes lined up perfectly. Arrived in 2 days, very substantial box and packing.

2006 Jeep Wrangler

I purchased a Hidden Hitch Trailer Receiver and never installed one on a Wrangler. But because of the great videos and instructions on etrailer's site I was encouraged to try. Well, I did have a problem. But it was me, I couldn't find the light connector and sent pictures to customer support which was a great big help! The explained how I needed to reach the light connector based upon pics I sent. The Hitch has functioned flawlessly. I have towed both a small utility trailer (4x8), a larger trailer (6x10) and a Thistle sailboat all with great confidence. The Hidden Hitch looks good and has a nice fit below the bumper. I have an 2006 Wrangler. Very happy with etrailer and this product. Thanks,

Robertt.

Jeep

This was an easy setup to install. The hitch went on my Jeep without much fuss, the wiring kit was easy to connect, and I think I was done in about an hour, start to finish. It's holding up well, in terms of finish and corrosion, and I'm really pleased with the purchase. Thank you, etrailer!

All good!

by:

The hitch arrived quickly and was exactly what I needed. It fit my 2003 Jeep Wrangler TJ perfectly. It was a tight fit and I did need to whack it with a hammer to get in place but that's far better than being loose on the frame in my opinion.

I've used etrailer.com for several purchases over the years and they are fantastic from a customer service perspective as well as the information they provide. I will definitely use them again in the future.

The hitch is still working great and looking great. We use it mostly for a bike rack but I also have a small trailer.

2000 Jeep Wrangler

Easy to install ! Great video online

by:
2006 Jeep TJ

The 30 minute install on my 06 Rubicon took longer because I chose to take the time running the wiring kit along the existing run which is located up high along the body. I used eight zip ties and payed attention to not allow the wire to chafe over time. The install of the hitch itself was pretty easy but I did choose to drop the tailpipe down an inch or so via two 13 mm bolts on the tailpipe bracket. By the way, you will need a 18 MM box wrench or socket in order to remove the tow hook. I also chose to purchase two button type black plastic body connectors in order to re-secure the black plastic mud doors on each side of the bumper. I also used one of the holes for the ground wire. Just slip the connector between the two pieces of body sheet metal. Thank you E-Trailer for the careful packaging. By the way, the master hitch lock is a must purchase along with the hitch kit and bag.

2000 Jeep Wrangler

This receiver hitch 75193 for 2000 Jeep Wrangler was easy to install. The price from etrailer seemed very reasonable, and it was delivered promptly. The only downside was the painted finish on the receiver hitch. The paint was peeling in spots leaving the bare unfinished steel exposed.

by:

Delivery service was fantastic! Looks like a great product, Will install tomorrow. Thanks!

It installed perfectly, has been flawless in service. Thanks for a great product.

by:
2005 Jeep Rubicon

Fairly easy to install on a 2005 Rubicon. I even did it by myself (I'm no mechanic, by far). Once I figured out that you need to get the sides bolted in before the bottom...and was able to get the flashlight shining in the access hole so I could see where the side bolts went into the handle nut...the assembly was easier than I imagined it would be.

Thanks to eTrailer for the excellent installation video which I watched before doing it myself, and the excellent customer service as well.

by:

Fit perfect, looks good. Easy to install with help from someone to hold it up. I drilled the hole on each side of the frame to .53 diameter to allow clearance for the bolt then used a floor jack to hold it in place.

by:
2005 Jeep Wrangler

Hitch arrived fast and damage free. Installation, thanks to the instructional video, bolted up in no time! Very easy install.
Will be ordering a tow-bar next. Thanks etrailer.com for making this so easy!!

by:
2002 Jeep Wrangler

Works great.Have pulled numerous trailers back and fourth to the Twin Cities and back which is about 5 hours round trip, never had any problems.

by:
2001 Jeep Wrangler

The wiring was exceptionally good and installation a breeze. The hitch itself was not difficult to install conceptually, but removal of the second bolt on the hook (driver's side) was ridiculously difficult to remove. The difficulty was not in the new product but the Sahara's engineering was not well thought through.

by:
2002 Jeep Wrangler

Just received the hitch yesterday. Haven't installed it yet. Good quality, fair price. Packaging was poor and part of the hitch came out of the box. This exposed part of the hitch had the paint/coating rubbed off, exposing the metal. I will spray this with Rustoleum to prevent corrosion. This easily could have been avoided by wrapping cardboard or adding additional layer of cardboard in the shipping box where the edges will rub.

by:
2002 Jeep Wrangler

Easy installation onto my 2002 Jeep Wrangler. This trailer hitch is built to last. I'll give it an A++

by:

Well made. Relatively easy to install but did require some bending to fit the frame which was somewhat frustrating. Anyway, it is on and the wiring harness was a no brainer to hookup. Shipping was super fast - could hardly believe it - :).

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for Small Uhaul Trailer
For your 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited I recommend starting with the Draw-Tite # 75193. Then I recommend using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118409 which installs behind your tail lights. If your trailer doesn't require electric brakes then you can simply add mount # 18144 and be good to go. Most Uhaul trailers have surge brakes if brakes are required so no brake controller is needed. If your trailer requires electric brakes, I recommend the same...

  • How Does a Lift Kit Affect Towing?
A body lift does not affect towing since it's only the body of your vehicle that's being raised; the stock suspension and wheels remain at their original height. With that being said, from what I was able to research online, your 6 inch Pro Comp Lift Kit may actually be a suspension lift. As far as the actual towing weight capacity is concerned, I am not able to tell you if and how much your 6 inch lift would affect it. I recommend reaching out to the manufacturer (Pro Comp) since they...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2006 Jeep Wrangler 65th Anniversary Edition w/ C-Channel Bumper
It sounds to me like your 2006 Jeep Wrangler 65th Anniversary Edition may have an optional accessory tube bumper and if this is the case. Take a look at the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 75193. There have been no reported issues with using this hitch with the accessory tube bumpers and the bonus is that it will offer a higher weight capacity and with the 2 inch opening more versatility when it comes to hitch mounted accessories than a Class I hitch. • How to Remove a Stuck Bolt and Nut on a Trailer Hitch of a 1999 Jeep TJ
Sounds like the bolt and nut may be rusted stuck. I recommend using the UltraLube Biobased Spray Lubricant and Penetrant. This spray lubricant can help penetrate between the bolt and nut to loosen up any dirt or rust that may be causing the nut to be stuck on the bolt. Once you have sprayed the bolt and nut liberally with the lubricant, try using a long handle breaker bar or an impact wrench to help break loose the bolt and nut.

  • Will Saris Superclamp # SA4025F Fit and Clear Rear Spare of 2004 Jeep Wrangler
You'll have to take one measurement to know if the Saris Superclamp part # SA4025F will fit your 2004 Jeep Wrangler and clear the rear spare. You'll need to measure from the center of your hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the rear spare. If that distance is less than 12 inches this rack will easily clear.
