Most importantly the hitch fit our vehicle as promised. The receiver is high quality with strong welds and a nice paint job. I haven't had to use it much yet but is ready!

by:

Installation was a bit difficult because for some reason the steel in the bumper was pretty tough. The first screw to be threaded through with the little threading tool went well. The second one was more difficult because the spiral that engages into the screw threads was no longer perfect. If I had two of those threading gizmo's it would have gone easier for threading the bolt through the bumper. But I did get it on.

Once in place, I have to say that the fit was perfect. The hitch was right below the bumper and having had it on the car now for about two, maybe three months, I haven't scraped it yet. So, it is up high enough to stay out of the way when coming out of steep aprons.

I am happy with it and would buy this or one made by Curt again.

You may notice from the picture that I did have this hitch modified so that I could put a 2" receiver in. I know this doesn't automatically make it a class III, I just did it to keep my bike rack from swaying so much. It does work.

by:

The kit was put together well, including the alignment of the welds. It include all necessary hardware and has been working well for a year now.

by:

It took a long time to receive the hitch and I didn’t immediately mount it to the car. When I did try to mount it I found that it was bent and I have not attempted to bend it back to the correct shape which I think is difficult as it is a compound bend. I thought as the car is older (2007 Mercury Milan 6 cylinder/dual exhaust) , it was difficult to source and I thought I could fit it. I still have the original box and all the parts if you are interested in exchanging it.

the difficulty of your install will depend on your vehicle. I have extensive rust on my vehicle so it made it harder than it needed to be. the product and hardware from etrailer was good quality. No problems one year later. I'll be buying hitches from etrailer in the future

by:
2008 Ford Fusion

Well built hitch. The only thing I'll have to say is have "quality" drill bits if you are installing on a Fusion. The bumper steel must be harden to withstand a rear crash. I dulled 3 and broke 1. Other than that the install was very easy. I loved the fish wire that came with the pack. Don't think I could get the bolts to the hole from the side into the drilled holes if it was not for the fish wire. I am truly glad that I found etrailer on the web. They have my business.
Thanks

2008 Mercury Milan

Very prominent shipping and of course a very nice hitch. Curt's make hitches better today than the other 2 did years ago when they were also made here.
Great hitch go USA

2009 Ford Fusion

Very easy to install yourself if you have the tools(drill, and several different sized bits). I’ve never installed a hitch before, but I watched the video, and followed the instructions. Took me 65 minutes from start to finish, including clean up. My Kuat Sherpa slid right in and isn’t going anywhere lol.

by:

Very sturdy well built hitch, one problem though is interference with spare tire wheel well. Otherwise great product, fishing line was genius.

by:

Solid construction. Perfect fit. Works perfect. I am very happy with customer service and support.

by:
2006 Mazda 6

Live in dry hot climate and use it to toe a kayak with a small car. Install was easy enough. Fits well. Works as expected.

Best thing I recall was my customer service experience with the company. They went above & beyond what I consider average. They went to extra mile to make my shopping experience easy.

by:

Unit was easy to install, was very happy with quality. Will definitely will order in future on next project.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2006 Ford Fusion
That was a nice gift but Hidden hitch trailer hitch 60282 will not fit a 2006 Ford Fusion. It used to fit 2010 to 2012 Fusions, 2010 and 2011 Mercury Milans, and 2010 to 2012 Lincoln MKZs. But that hitch is now discontinued. The comparable trailer hitch for the 2006 Ford Fusion is the Curt # C11329. If you plan on doing some towing the correct ball mount is # 3592. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # 118422. I have linked a video...

For the 2007 Mazda 6 five door hatch back, and the 4 door sedan, you would need to use the Curt Trailer Hitch, item # C11329. To be able to use the 23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier w/ Lid # M2205-2201 with your 2008 Lincoln MKZ, you'll first need a trailer hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11329. This trailer hitch is a class I trailer hitch with a maximum towing capacity of 2,000lbs, and has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 200lbs. Since # M2205-2201 is designed to work in 2" x 2" trailer hitch receivers, you'll need to use the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # HTAD. This will...

The hitches that are made or your 2007 Ford Fusion are the 1-1/4-inch Class I type, such as the Curt # C11329 that I recommend, so in order to use a 2-inch hitch-mount kayak carrier like the Darby # DTA944-968-924 you'll need a hitch adapter # HT5R to give you the needed 2-inch hitch opening. This adapter not only gives you the larger receiver opening but it also will give you 5-inches of rise (height gain) which will improve your ground clearance when using the Darby carrier. All adapters...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and 2 Bike Rack for 2008 Ford Fusion with Rear Spoiler
For your 2008 Ford Fusion I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11329. This hitch is an easy installation that you can do or have any local mechanic you trust do for you. I've attached the installation details to assist. The 1-1/4 inch hitch is decently recessed under the bumper of your vehicle, so I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH903202. • Curt Trailer Hitch # 11329 Vs. Hidden Hitch # 60846 for a 2008 Lincoln MKZ
Both the Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch # 60846 and the Curt Hitch # 11329 are quality hitches and neither have had any quality or fit issues for us. I attached a page that shows both of these products side by side for you to check out. The only noticeable difference in construction between the two hitches is that the Hidden Hitch has a larger welded on bracket for securing the stinger of the hitch to the cross tube. This might give the Hidden Hitch a slight advantage. I attached installation...

For the 2006, you'd want the Curt # C11329. If you look at both hitches, as well as their installation procedure, you can see that the two hitches are quite different. I recommend going with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75234 for your 2015 Ford Edge. • Hitch Availability for a 2009 Lincoln MKZ
We do have hitches available that have been confirmed to fit your 2009 Lincoln MKZ, but if Lincoln says you can't tow with your vehicle then we can't recommend you do so. Basically the hitch manufacturers will make hitches for vehicles as long as there is a demand for them, regardless of what the vehicle manufacturer recommends. For your vehicle you may still be able to carry a bike rack like the Swagman XTC2 # S64670 so a hitch like the Curt part # C11329 would work well for this.

You should be able to just pop out the two rubber plugs in the trunk pan of your 2007 Mazda 6 Sport Wagon, using a flat head screwdriver or trim removal tool. The Curt model # C11329 does not require you to lower your exhaust to complete the installation, as the entire hitch assembly runs along the center of the vehicle, between the exhaust. • Fit of Trunk Mounted Bike Carrier on 2006 Mazda 6 Hatchback
Your best bet would be to install a receiver hitch like the Curt Class I receiver, part # C11329. The hitch can be used as an attachment point for a bike rack. Because of the limited weight bearing ability of the Class I receiver, you will be limited to carrying two bikes and would need to choose a rack that is compatible with a Class I receiver. None of our bike rack manufacturers recommend using trunk mounted racks on the Mazda 6 hatchback model, because the hatchback is not strong...

  • What is Weight of Curt Hitch # C11329 and How Long to Install by Shop
The Curt hitch part # C11329 weighs 22 lbs which wouldn't make any noticeable difference for traction on a front wheel drive car. We've sold quite a few hitches over the years and we've yet to have anyone come back and tell us that winter weather traction was ever effected. Curt lists this hitch as taking about 45 minutes for a shop to complete the install. So less than an hour at their current shop rate. Most shops would charge at least one hour to do the install.

However, if cost is your primary concern and the only thing, you're looking to haul are bicycles, you might consider a trunk mounted bike rack instead, which could cost about half as much as the hitch. We have the Curt trailer hitch # C11329 for the 2009 Ford Fusion that has a towing capacity of 2,000 lbs. This capacity though is independent of the capacity of your vehicle. I tried looking up the capacity for it online and most places say it wasn't listed or it's not rated for any towing. So I really wouldn't feel comfortable telling you that your vehicle could tow a 1,500 lb trailer. Especially on the hills you describe. • Trailer Hitch and 4 Bike Carrying Recommendation for 2009 Lincoln MKZ
The Curt # C11329 is indeed a fit for your 2009 Lincoln MKZ. This would work great for you. You can use an adapter like # HTAD, but there's 2 problems with doing that. Both the hitch and bike rack manufacturers state that no more than 2 bikes should be carried in a bike rack used in a Class I hitch. Adding a 3rd and 4th bike moves too much weight too far away from the hitch receiver tube which can apply enough leverage to damage the hitch or cause the attachment points to the vehicle...
