What is Weight of Curt Hitch # C11329 and How Long to Install by Shop

Question:

my hubby wants me to return it. He says it is too heavy for my car, and it will cause my car to slide in winter, or not get good traction. What can I say to him to convince him to let me keep it. I dont have pics because I havent installed it. I live in MN and it has been freezing cold. What is an approx. reasonable cost to have a little independent station install it for me? how many hours labor will it take approximately if it is done by a garage that can put it on a lift

Helpful Expert Reply:

The Curt hitch part # C11329 weighs 22 lbs which wouldn't make any noticeable difference for traction on a front wheel drive car. We've sold quite a few hitches over the years and we've yet to have anyone come back and tell us that winter weather traction was ever effected. Curt lists this hitch as taking about 45 minutes for a shop to complete the install. So less than an hour at their current shop rate. Most shops would charge at least one hour to do the install.
