Tips for Installing Curt 1-1/4 Trailer Hitch C11329 on a 2007 Mazda 6 Sport Wagon
Question:
Hi, i recently bought the trailer hitch from your website because it was a lot cheaper than doing it at a store.Just opened it yesterday and was about to install it when it seemed a little bit more complicated than I thought. I dont think there are any videos for this, all the videos seem to be for hitches where drilling is required and exhausts need to be lowered. I looked at the directions before purchasing and it didnt say that exhausts need to be lowered in the directions. Im getting the impression that it might need to be because when I match up the hitch, I see where the rubber plugs need to removed for the two holes, but on the other side, it doesnt seem to match up. Before I get started, I was just wondering if I can get some more detailed information about the installation including how to remove the rubber plugs and car stuff. Sorry, I know it might be hard to explain in words but anything would help.

You should be able to just pop out the two rubber plugs in the trunk pan of your 2007 Mazda 6 Sport Wagon, using a flat head screwdriver or trim removal tool. The Curt model # C11329 does not require you to lower your exhaust to complete the installation, as the entire hitch assembly runs along the center of the vehicle, between the exhaust.
Once you have popped out the two plugs, move straight back from these holes, staying in the center of the vehicle. Once you reach the inner bumper structure on the vehicle, you should see two existing holes, right and left of center. You will fish wire the two carriage bolts down into these holes so that you can attach the rearmost mounting point on the trailer hitch.
Please note that the # 24785 is only a fit for the 2007 Mazda Sport Wagon. If your vehicle is a sedan model, you would need to use a model similar to Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24775, which requires drilling to install. You can view the installation instructions for both hitches at the links provided, as well as some hitch installation tips.
