That was a nice gift but Hidden hitch trailer hitch 60282 will not fit a 2006 Ford Fusion. It used to fit 2010 to 2012 Fusions, 2010 and 2011 Mercury Milans, and 2010 to 2012 Lincoln MKZs. But that hitch is now discontinued.
The comparable trailer hitch for the 2006 Ford Fusion is the Curt # C11329. If you plan on doing some towing the correct ball mount is # 3592. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # 118422. I have linked a video on the wiring installation as well.
If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch.
