Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Buyers Products heavy duty forged ball mount for three inch hitches. It has a 21,000 pound gross towing weight capacity.Now, this ball mount will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank portion right here is what will slide into your vehicles three inch hitch receiver and the ball platform up here provides the mounting point for your hitch ball.Now, the hitch ball is not included. That is sold separately.

When you do go to get a hitch ball, you do want to make sure that the shank diameter on that hitch ball was one and a quarter inches. That's the diameter of the ball hole right here, that the hitch ball mounts in to.Now, this is a solid one piece forward steel construction. You can see it has a nice corrosion resistant black powder coat finish to it. And both the drop and the rise positions are available to ensure level towing.When you use it in the drop position, which should be installed like this, the drop would be measured from the top of the ball platform to the top of the shank. So if we put our ruler on that, you can see the maximum drop for this is going to be eight inches.

And if you flip it over, put it into the rise position, and we measure that again. It's top of the shank, top of the ball platform. It's going to give you a maximum rise of six and three quarter inches.Now, when you do install this into your hitch receiver, it will require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock to secure it to your hitch receiver. Those items are not included. They are sold separately.

You do want to make sure when you do use a hitch pin and clip or hitch lock, the pin diameter does need to be three quarters of an inch. That's the diameter of the hitch pin hole right here.A few specs on this again. It's designed to fit a three inch by three inch trailer hitch receiver and the maximum gross trailer weight capacity is 21,000 pounds.
