Today we're going to be taking a look at the Panel Lock Slam Latch with Cover. Now a slam latch is ideal for trailers and shed doors. Slam latches are very versatile and can be used for many different applications. This one's going to feature a spring loaded pin with an angled tip, so that's going to provide easy hands free latching action. That angled tip design allows the pin to automatically retract when the door shuts. Remove the cover, and that way you can see the square shape of the spring and that's going to help ensure easy operation. Now it does come with the cover.

Mount holes line up perfectly once it's installed. That cover's going to protect the internal components of the latch from damage and from the elements. Also gives a really clean appearance to the slam latch unit. The unit itself is made from a passivated stainless steel construction. It's very strong and durable. It's going to do a great job at resisting rusting corrosion.

The rubber handle cover is secured on there with adhesive, so that's' going to prevent the handle from slipping off. That handle provides simply an easy grip design. Few measurements to go over with you real quick starting with the dimensions of the body. Edge to the edge this direction, that's going measure 2 and 7/8ths of an inch. Edge to edge going this direction, that's going to give us a measurement of 2 inches wide. Going from bottom to top, that's going to be about 1 inch to 1 and 1/16th of an inch.

When it comes to the dimensions of the pin, that's going to be a half inch square design, so half inch by half inch. Overall length from tip to back of the handle, that's going to give us a measurement of about 4 and 7/8ths of an inch long. The extension, that's how far the pin extends out from the body, that's three quarters of an inch. And then when it comes to the mount holes, going side to side this direction, these are going to be separated on center by 1 and 15/16ths of an inch. Going this direction on center, they're separated by 1 and 3/8ths of an inch.
