Trailer Valet RVR5 Electric Trailer Mover

Moving your RV, boat trailer, or cargo trailer can be an arduous task. Manual trailer movers and dollies require you to bend over and move the trailer either by hand or by turning a manual hand crank. Electric trailer movers remove the physical exertion, but they still require you to manually steer your trailer with a handle, which requires strength and a second person to be a spotter.

The remote-controlled RVR robot removes those hassles and frustrations. With the RVR5, you can move your trailer with the push of a button. No physical exertion is required. Thanks to the wireless, handheld remote controller, moving your trailer is now a 1-person job. The remote control's 40' range lets you freely walk around your trailer while relocating it, ensuring that you have the best viewing angle as you go around corners and maneuver your trailer into tight spaces.

Operation with the Wireless Remote Controller

Trailer Valet RVR5 Wireless Remote Controller

The RVR's wireless remote controller has a simple layout featuring forward/back and right/left buttons. Once your trailer's coupler is secured on the RVR's hitch ball, hold down the "up" arrow button to move forward, and hold down the "down" arrow to move backward. To turn the RVR, hold down the "up" or "down" button while also pressing either the "left" or "right" arrow button, depending on the direction you want to move your trailer.

The RVR can be used to move your trailer up slopes or inclines of no more than 5 degrees. When using the RVR robot to move your trailer up an incline, the RVR must push the trailer up the slope. When going down an incline, the RVR must lead, or pull, the trailer down the slope.

 RVR5 Remote Battery Indicator

With a full charge, the RVR has a runtime of approximately 30 minutes, which allows for plenty of time to relocate your trailer. The remote control includes a battery indicator that will let you know when the RVR's battery is running low and needs to be recharged. To conserve the battery, the unit automatically shuts itself off after being idle for 3 minutes. The charger is included and connects to standard 2-prong outlets. The unit takes 5 to 6 hours to fully recharge.

360 Degrees of Motion

Trailer Valet RVR5 Motorized Trailer Mover

The RVR5 is built with 4 planetary gear motors that can move both single- and tandem-axle trailers. The independently operated motors allow for 360 degrees of motion, providing you with complete control and maneuverability when moving your trailer.

Heavy-Duty Rubber Treads

Trailer Valet RVR5 Rubber Treads

The heavy-duty caterpillar treads allow the RVR to handle a variety of terrain, including asphalt, gravel, grass, and dirt. The 2" wide rubber treads enable the RVR to move easily from one type of surface to another.

Hooking Your Trailer up to the RVR

Trailer Valet RVR5 Install

With the included base tower and interchangeable 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls, it's easy to hook your trailer up to the RVR5. Just connect your coupler to the RVR's hitch ball, and then use the included spanner wrench to tighten the locking nut and secure it against the coupler. This will ensure that the ball doesn't slip out of the coupler during operation. Then you're ready to go.

I recently had a leg injury and needed a better way to move my trailer out of storage and into a position where I could hitch it up to my tow vehicle. Lakieya was so helpful both on the online chat and also on the phone. Etrailer’s staff are always so helpful when I call. The Trailer Valet is well built and very sturdy. Can’t wait to try it out.

by:

It pulls my trailer on the flat, but no good on a grass incline. That part I have to use a manual dolly and pull hard to get it onto the hard standing again.

by:

A little pricey and large for transporting to campsites, but great for moving trailer into tight storage space.

It is a life-saver for an old man

by:

It works fine on very level ground. It has a hard time if there are cracks in your cement where it has to pull your trailer over if they are 1/4 of an inch high. It will become on stable on the treads. I have the 5500 LB unit my trailer is 2700 LBs It is not the power it is the stability on the treads.

by:

My item (RVR5) was received yesterday. One day early. Can't wait to use it. However, I am missing the spanner wrench. I think it will prove to be the answer to my issues.

We continue to use the trailer valet to move our 30 tri-toon into tight parking spaces. Excellent product.

Want the whole campground to be jealous? Break out this thing! It works exactly as advertised. Moves my 25ft coleman lantern comfortably on asphalt, crushed gravel, and cement. Also handles my 15ft utility trailer with easy. Even on soft grass. It's super expensive but not over priced in my opinion. The peace of mind it gives me when I'm heading to unfamiliar campgrounds is priceless.

by:

Works perfect on hard surfaces only.

by:

Great product, FAST delivery, a bit costly. Packing box for unit was missing a hook spanner wrench. Called etrailer and was told a replacement would be sent out.

by:

Lots of different uses. Have a big pull behind leaf vacuum that I made an adapter so the valet can drive it along the shrubs etc without the mower

by:

Makes trailer parking a breeze. Wish I’d found it earlier.

  • Recommended Remote Control Trailer Dolly for Incline on Driveway and 5K Trailer
If your trailer is 5,000 when you are wanting to move it then you can use the Trailer Valet RVR5 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly # TVRVR5 which is rated for 5,500 lbs. If you are wanting to move your trailer and that weight exceeds the 5,500 lb mark then you need the RVR9 instead which is part # TVRVR9 and rated for 9K. I reached out to my contact at Trailer Valet who said that their RVR dollies can operate with up to a 5 degree incline. I have attached some review videos that you can...

Yes both of the Trailer Valet Remote-Controlled Trailer Dollies # TVRVR5 and # TVRVR3 have internal brakes that are automatic. What this means is that unless you are intentionally moving them they will not move or roll. The 5 is just as ball mount application.

The warranty for the Trailer Valet RVR5, part # TVRVR5, includes a 1-year limited warranty. It covers any manufacturer defects with material or assembly. Wear and tear, damage from use, or damage from improper maintenance/repair are not covered. I've taken these from the installation details that I've linked to below. In it, Trailer Valet lists how to contact them to make warranty claims. For your particular trailer, I recommend the RVR3, part # TVRVR3. This is a step below the RVR5 in...

  • Will the Trailer Valet RVR5 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly Work with a CruiseMaster Coupler
The Trailer Valet RVR5 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly part # TVRVR5 is compatible with any trailer coupler which uses a 2" or 2-5/16" hitch ball. I looked up the CruiseMaster and this does not use a standard hitch ball design therefore would not be compatible. That said, there is a version of this dolly that may work better for you in the Trailer Valet RVR3 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly part # TVRVR3 since it attaches to the frame so that's what I recommend.

The Trailer Valet RVR5 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly # TVRVR5 that you referenced will work great with a trailer that has electric brakes. Dollies do not activate trailer brakes so your electric brakes wouldn't cause any issues. This also has an internal brake built into it.

  • Will the Trailer Valet RVR5 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly Work In Grass
Yes, the Trailer Valet RVR5 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly part # TVRVR5 does work on grass although the harder the ground is, the better the dolly will work. For example, if it just rained and the ground was soft and mushy then it probably wouldn't be a great idea to use the dolly but for most other conditions it will work great. We don't have any demo videos used in grass at this time.

Great question! I went ahead and reached out to my tech at Trailer Valet, and he confirmed that you can use the RVR5 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly # TVRVR5 with a 2" lip between your garage and your driveway. He also said that the best way to go over the transition is to lay a sheet of plywood for the RVR5. Also, it may help to add more tongue weight to the trailer to help get more traction.
