What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this Trimax shackle mount. So it's gonna go on a two inch hitch. Today, we're putting in a two and a half inch hitch with a reducer. The reason why you wanna get one of these shackles that mounts on your hitch is so if you get stuck or someone else you know gets stuck, you can get them pulled out or you get pulled out. So we got the strap here.
We're gonna undo the pins center, just rotate it out. You don't have to make that super tight when you go to put it back on. It moves like this. You can run the strap through the shackle. You have to protector here.
We're gonna put it back in place. Make sure you put the pin towards the threaded side of the shackle. It's gonna be on that side, right through here through the mount. We'll turn it hand tight and then just back it off a quarter turn so that doesn't get too tight when you go to pull somebody else out. Now the shackle is gonna be three quarters of an inch and it's also gonna be rated for 10,000 pounds, so just keep that in mind with what you wanna pull.
Now you can use it the way we have it set up now or vertically. So I'll pull the pin and show you. On the shank, there's gonna be holes on each side. So you can turn it up on its side if that's how you wanna use it to tow somebody out. Overall, I think it's gonna be a nice thing to have.
If this isn't heavy duty enough for you, BulletProof Hitches makes a quite a bit bigger one that's gonna have a bigger shackle on there. And if you're really using it all the time and you don't want it to break down on you, I would suggest that one. But this one's gonna be great because it's smaller. It can fit in the back of your truck. It's not gonna take up a whole lot of space. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helps.
