Video Transcript for Bulldog 2 Inch x 2 Inch Receiver Winch Review

What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this Bulldog Winch. This is gonna have a shackle with a mount that goes in your two-inch hitch. Let's check it out. It's gonna be a good idea to have just in case for emergencies. So, whether you get stuck in the mud or you wanna help somebody else that gets stuck, it's good to have this.

You don't use any tie-down points on your vehicle that could damage the frame. So, having this in the back of your car, you can throw this in the hitch and use this to help somebody else out, or that you pulled out. To use it, you can just back off the pin here. You got a three quarter-inch diameter shackle here in the middle. (pin rattling) You're gonna unthread this by hand.

You don't need tools to tighten this down and shouldn't be that tight. We just put our strap through the shackle, set it up here. Make sure you put the pin in towards the threaded side of the shackle. Turn this hand tight. (pin rattling) And once you've done that, once you get it all the way tight, back it off a quarter turn, just in case it gets tighter when you go to pull on it.

With this end hooked up to this vehicle, the Durango's gonna be pulled out of the mud or the snow that it's stuck in, we're gonna go to the truck that it's connected to to show you how that works. Now, we're at the end of the truck. It's gonna have a 2 1/2 inch on it. This is a little bit more heavy duty, but this is what's gonna be pulling on the Durango to get it unstuck. Take a closer look at the shackle.

It is gonna be chrome-plated. You don't have to worry about rust or corrosion if you do leave in the back of your vehicle. But the nice thing about this one is it's small enough to throw in the inside and be outta sight, outta mind. Now, it's gonna have a weight capacity of nine and a half thousand pounds. So, just keep that in mind with what you're wanting to tow or pull. This is what it looks like outside of the hitch. It's showing you how small it is. You can easily put this in the inside of your vehicle and it won't take up a bunch of space. And it's definitely something good to have just in case it's emergency. It snows, you go off the road or if somebody get stuck in the mud, much better to have this than attach to the bottom of your vehicle. Another thing to point out is the multiple holes on the shank so you can go vertical with the shackle. So, we put it in at that and pin it. And that's gonna be a good idea if the vehicle isn't directly behind you. So, if you need to pull at an angle, this is what it's gonna be better for. So, we need to bring this over here to pull at those angles you need. Overall, I definitely think it's a good thing to have. Like I said, easily stored in the back of your vehicle and it's gonna be much safer and much more reliable than finding random hooking points on the bottom of your vehicle. It's much safer to use this and not damage anything. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. Hope this helped.

Bulldog Winch 2" x 2" Receiver with 3/4" Shackle - BDW20037

I have been using etrailer over the last five years since I bought the Ford F-150 XLT. They have never disappointed me and have always been there to answer any questions I had. I had to return one trailer hitch I purchased but that was due to my inexperience/lack of knowledge, that return went smooth as silk. These people have it all and their products are superior.

I have used this hitch attachment for vehicle recovery and I like it very much. It is very versatile due to the ability to mount it either horizontally or vertically. The quality appears to be very high as the main shank is actually a solid piece with holes drilled through.

After a year, this shackle mount has almost never left my hitch. It has worked great for many recoveries and towing situations.

The quality of the Bulldog 2x2 winch receiver was better than what I expected! Machined from a block of solid steel, it should more than live up to its 9,500 lb. rated capacity. Either my snatch line or tow strap will snap before this hawg gives out.
The 3/4" shackle is finished to match the silver coating on the receiver and should help to protect from rust. I gave everything a light coating of grease to for a little more protection from the winter driving conditions we have here in the Sierra mountain passes.
Thanks etrailer for another great product at a fair price and very fast shipping!

Just received the bulldog 2x2 receiver and man this thing is a hoss I am going to use this in conjunction with my bulldog snatch strap for recovery on the beach in Cape Hatteras NC. This thing is one solid billet of steel don't think I am going to have any problem with it failing in any way I think the trailer hitch would fail first. Package arrived fast customer service excellent as always speaking of customer service never had a place that tells you who processes it who packed it and who shipped it and what time everything took place, HATS OFF TO ALL CUSTOMER SERVICE FOLKS HERE AT ETRAILER hope they are paying all of you well you deserve it.( thank you etrailer.)

Built tough. Also, looks tough on the truck which is always a plus! Short length makes stowing it in the truck until needed easier. Got it for emergency use...either mine or someone else's. Maybe I'll never need it, but I like to be prepared.

Used it to pull a bush out. No sweat! Otherwise has been stored in case of emergency. Love it.

by:

Perfect hitch shackle. I have used it to pull small stumps, a winch point for pulling a bumper straight, and the occasional roadside recovery. I can't remember for sure, but I don't think it is made in the US.

by:

Product was delivered on time as expected. The Bulldog Winch is exactly as pictured and although I have not used it yet I have no doubt it will perform flawlessly. It's a great piece of mind to carry with you in your truck.

Good price, heavy duty. etrailer shipped it out quick and they have great customer service. Every product I have bought through etrailer has been high quality.

by:

I work on gas pipelines. The right of way is often very muddy, icy, rough or very steep requiring vehicles to be pulled out of the situation. This is the best way to be pulled from the rear. Excellent, sturdy product!

by:

As advertised very good quality and fast shipping. First time customer and very pleased.
