What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this hitch-mounted tow loop from Erickson. So you're gonna be able to use this to run a strap through the shackle to connect to to pull you out if you get stuck or you can help somebody else out. Let's check it out. It's gonna be really easy to use. So once you have it in the hitch, you can just loosen the pin here and the shackle and you can remove it.

So then you'll use your strap or your rope that has the loop on it, run that through the shackle, put this back in place and make sure you keep an eye on the threaded part of the pin with the threaded part of the shackle 'cause we're gonna run this down through. And then that's how you're gonna tighten it down. Now you just tighten it down by hand, no tools needed. Once it gets tight, back it off just a quarter turn so it doesn't get too tight when it goes to pull. Now this is gonna be vertical set up with a shackle.

So what that means is not only can it pull a vehicle that's straight behind you. They're gonna pull from angles too if they aren't right behind you. It's gonna have a sturdy steel construction and have a weight capacity of 4,750 pounds. So just keep that in mind with what you wanna pull. Something else I wanna point out is it does not come with its own hitch pin and clip.

So you'll have to pick one of those up separately. Now you can get locking hitch pins for your vehicle if you plan on leaving it here all the time, but it's small enough that you can just throw it in the back of the vehicle and it's not gonna be in the way. Overall, I think it's gonna be handy to have. I think it's gonna be good in emergencies if you need to get pulled out of a situation when you get your vehicle stuck. I'd much rather trust this sturdy steel construction than hook up to something sketchy underneath my vehicle that could damage the frame or the vehicle itself.
