2020 Ram 1500 - Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights - Red LEDs - 4-Way Flat Connector - Wireless

  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Hopkins
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Universal

Removable LED lights provide signal lights for your towed car without you having to tap into the car's wiring or run wires under the car. Wireless transmitter plugs into your RV's 4-way connector and sends a signal to the magnetic lights.

Features:

  • Removable tow lights provide stop, tail, and turn functions for your trailer or towed car
  • No need to wire your trailer or tap into wiring on your towed car
  • Wireless transmitter eliminates the hassle of running cords to the lights every time you tow

    • Emits a signal that triggers tow lights from up to 65' away
    • Operates on a standard 12-volt system
  • Heavy-duty, non-scratch magnets on the lights provide a secure grip without damaging your paint
  • Long-lasting LEDs are more efficient, faster acting, and brighter than incandescent lights

  • Department of Transportation compliant

Specs:

  • Application: towed cars or trailers no wider than 80"
  • Light diameter: 4"
  • Length of wire between lights: 106"
  • Transmitter wire length: 76"
  • 90-Day warranty

Hopkins Tow Lights mount on the back of your towed vehicle.

These wireless, removable tow lights make it easy to add running lights, brake lights, and turn signals to your towed car or trailer. With this setup, you won't need to tap into existing wiring for installation. With other magnetic tow lights, you have to run cords from the lights to the front of the towed car or trailer every time you need to tow. These tow lights work wirelessly to eliminate that hassle. And the wireless design also allows you to move the lights from one vehicle to another in minutes.

Hopkins Tow Lights magnetic base.

The lights attach directly to any metal surface with the included heavy-duty, non-scratch magnets, which won't damage your paint. And the handy on/off switch lets you use the lights only when you need them, saving battery power.

The 4-way connector plugs into your vehicle. The transmitter attaches to your tow vehicle via a heavy-duty magnet.

Setup is simple. Plug the included transmitter into the 4-way flat trailer connector on your RV or tow vehicle. The transmitter mounts to the frame of the RV or tow vehicle using the built-in magnet. Turn the switch on the driver's-side light to "on," and attach the tow lights to the back of the towed car or trailer, as far apart as is practical. Secure any excess wire between the 2 lights with a twist tie.

Each light is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included). A blinking LED indicator on the face of the driver's-side light signals low battery. This indicator should be checked every 2 hours to be sure your lights still have adequate power.

2024 Ford F-150

Used these to tow aluminum body F150. Magnets strong enough to securely attach below rear bumper which is about the only steel part available. Super easy to set up and they work perfectly

They work great on my Class C pulling my Honda CRV.

by:
2019 Thor Windsport Motorhome

I just received them and tested them out and they work great. They are very bright and responsive. I look forward to using them in the future when I tow my vehicle behind my RV.

by:

Haven’t used it yet. Looks good and delivery was fast.

VERY GOOD SERVICE I HAVE ORDER THINGS FROM FOR YEARS I THINK THEY ARE THE BEST BAR NONE

by:

Have issues with lights blinking erratic

by:

Ordered these because my car towing wiring had a problem and didn't have time to get it fixed. First set arrived but had a manufacturing defect and right hand light didn't work (not etrailer's fault!). Called etrailer and they were very accommodating in sending out a second set which arrived in time. The second set worked perfectly. Good service and extensive follow up by etrailer shows they care. I'll use them for other purchases any time!

Still works great. Save us on a trip when the car to RV connection went [bad].

by:

No big deal, install batteries and put on toad !

Should have done this years ago before they cut into my tail light wiring and also had to deal with rusted out 4 prong plug in over the years.

Still the best and not a problem, quality product

by:

Test connection went perfectly. Will see how it goes when we hit the road in May. The lights look well made and should last me a long time.

Thank for the great service!

Lincoln MKZ

These things are the best thing since sliced bread!
We have a Lincoln MKZ that already has a hitch on the rear for towing a small enclosed trailer. The thought of having to "hard" wire in a wiring harness for towing behind the motorhome that would still allow the trailer to be towed was not a task I was looking forward to. etrailer suggested these as an alternative. Literally plug and play. Just plug the transmitter into the motorhome, install batteries and attach the magnetic based lights to the trunk of the MKZ and presto! DONE! I hooked the car up behind the motorhome and ran it down the freeway at 60-65 mph and all was good. Worked straight out of the box! Fantastic product!

Wonderful product

Saturn Ion

These work well, bright. They do eat up regular Duracell batteries. After first use of these I switched to Lithium Ion. The lights were noticeably brighter in the daylight sun. The life of the batteries has drastically improved service. I have a habit of removing the batteries when not in use to enable greater duration; they do have an on/off switch built in, but it's so simple to remove them in case of phantom degradation. Over-all, I am very happy with these and installation on the car is a snap. Love them so far. Would buy/recommend to others.

by:

Great looking lights, LED wireless hook up makes this an easy installation and easy choice.

by:

Works great no problems easy to install

by:
2011 Ford Taurus

Was absolutely 100% delighted with this product. Drove a total of 2600 miles in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions and these lights worked perfectly. Batteries lasted all most to the end of the trip. I'd recommend this set up to everyone who cannot afford to have wiring redone on a vintage trailer.

by:

I bought the wireless Hopkins tow lights to temporarily tow my new Jeep behind our Motorhome until I could wire the taillights permanently. I liked them so well that I have never wired the Jeep and only use the wireless taillights.

by:

very easy to see and use. I hope I never have to rewire another old trailer. Love them.

by:

Great customer service

by:

Great experience.Fast service.

by:

These have been a lifesaver for our camper lights not working properly. Never had an issue with these

by:
2010 Honda Element

I have not tried this yet, but the design is excellent! Having a magnet on the transmitter to attach to the tow vehicle was just icing on the cake!

by:

Great system

by:

Product appears to work as represented. Have not had it on the road yet.

Lights work great, and battery life is better than expected. Only issue is potential for paint damage... I recommend that the manufacturer consider a softer landing pad to reduce potential for paint scratches.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2016 Cadillac Escalade
Along with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1716 and the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar # BX7380 there are a couple more parts you need in order to safely flat tow your 2016 Cadillac Escalade. Since the Alpha comes with safety chains we can check that off the list but you will also need a wiring kit in order to activate your Escalade's brake lights and turn signals. For that the best option is the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267, or you can simply add magnetic...

  • Inexpensive Tow Bar for a 2003 Honda Civic EX
The Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms part # C19745 would not mount directly to the front bumper fascia on your 2003 Honda Civic EX because it is made of plastic. In order to use this tow bar you would need to remove the front bumper fascia and attach this to the bumper support beam or the core support arms. If you do not want to remove the front bumper fascia each time then your only option would be a set of base plates and tow bar. The cost cost effective option we have for this...

Please keep in mind that these brackets must be mounted to a flat surface. The universal brackets are designed for use with Blue Ox tow bars like the Alpha, # BX7365. • Parts Needed To Flat-Tow 1995 Jeep Wrangler
When flat-towing, there are 5 things that are needed. For your 1995 Jeep Wrangler, the RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar , part # RM-020, is one part of the system, and will work well for you. The base plates I recommend are the Roadmaster Base Plates, part # 1409-1. These brackets have a fixed-bar design and will work well with the Tracker tow bar. I then recommend the RoadMaster Coiled, Safety Chains, part # RM-643. These vinyl-coated cables have a quick link on one end and a spring hook on...

  • Can Front Mount Trailer Hitch and Base Plates be Installed on 2001 Jeep Cherokee at the Same Time
With base plates installed on your 2001 Jeep Cherokee, # 1418-3 or # 1418-1, you will not be able to also install front mount trailer hitch # 65009. The issue is that both the base plates and the hitch install in the same place and occupy much of the same space so both cannot be installed at the same time. The same goes for Curt hitch # 31084. Neither the base plates nor front hitches are designed for or rated for being stacked or sandwiched. They are all meant to be in direct contact...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2000 Chevy Cavalier
The first thing needed to flat tow your 2000 Chevy Cavalier is a base plate kit like the Blue Ox Base Plate kit part # BX1647. This provides the attachment point for a set of tow bars. For Tow Bars I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha part # BX7380. This comes with safety cables. For lighting I would recommend the Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights # C6304. And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake...

If I were you, I'd just stick the lights # C6304 to the roof of your Maverick and call it good. They'll be up high enough where anyone on the road will be able to see them, and they won't potentially slip off because they're getting ideal metal on magnet contact.

Unfortunately, the etrailer License Plate and LED Tail Light Mounting Kit for Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier # e98943-44LED will not fit the 20x48 etrailer Off Road Cargo Carrier. However, given that the construction of the etrailer Off Road Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches is made of steel, there is a possibility that tail lights with magnetic mounts will work with the carrier. You will need it because your Jeep has a combined lighting system where the brake lights act as both the brake signals and the turn signals.
