Blue Ox Flat-Towing Components for Use with 2014 Chevrolet Spark with Manual Transmission
Question:
I am looking for Blue Ox towing equipment base plate, tow bar, Patriot braking system, lights for towing a 2014 manual transmission Chevy Spark behind a 2014 Coachman Freelander DS31. What do you recommend? What do you suggest for providing the power supply for the Patriot unit, seeing that I will likely need to use a battery disconnect in the Spark? Thanks.

We can help you select appropriate Blue Ox flat towing components to pull your 2014 Chevrolet Spark with manual transmission. Thank you for coming to us here at etrailer.
For base plates you can use Roadmaster EZ2 Base Plate Kit # 523174-1 which features removable arms to help reduce bruised shins. I recommend the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar # RM-501 and safety cables # RM-643.
For a braking system the portable Patriot # BLU37TR is a great choice for its easy installation and set-up and for its reliable performance.
For a power source for the Patriot you can use the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332.
For a lighting solution the easiest option is a magnetic kit like the Hopkins # C6304 which requires almost no installation time; they are easily installed and removed and require no alterations to your Spark's wiring. If you prefer a more permanent installation you can use the # RM-155 kit that is a bulb-and-socket kit that installs in the Spark's taillights but which remains electrically separate from its internal wiring.
If you like you can have a look at the linked articles on flat towing and its always a good idea to check your owner's manual for any recommended flat towing preparation for your Spark. Please come back to us if you have any questions during your installation.
