Can I Connect The Hopkins Magnetic Lights To 4-Pin and Still Use Brake Controller
Question:
I have a 2019 Land Rover Discovery with a wired Tekonsha brake controller. Brake controller works fine but lights seem not to be getting enough signal. Can I connect this to the 4 pin outlet while still connecting the trailer to the 7 way in order to have brakes?

The Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights part # C6304 are designed to be plugged into a 4-pin connector on a towed vehicle. If you want to use these on the vehicle and plug them into the 4-pin on the trailer you would not have the running lights on your trailer. Also it sounds like you are having an issue with the trailer wiring connector on your vehicle anyway if the trailer lights are not lighting up.
I recommend to check the 4-pin wiring on the 2019 Land Rover Discovery for any damaged or frayed wires first. You also want to check the ground of the wiring harness which is usually the most common reason trailer lights do not work. You want to make sure the ground is attached to a clean bare metal surface of the vehicle's frame.
Another reason the lights may not work is the connections have corrosion or bent pins. If you check the trailer connector on the vehicle thoroughly and see rust it can be lightly sanded off with a fine grit sandpaper. If the pins are bent you may need a new connector.
