Base Plate Options for 2006 Chevrolet Express Van
Question:
Do I need a base plate to tow a 2006 chevy express or I can just mount it thru the bumper? I'll just make a hole to the bumper since it's metal bumper?

Blue Ox does offer the Universal Bolt-On Adapter Tabs, # BX88266, which could be mounted to the metal bumper of your 2006 Chevrolet Express Van but it will most likely need to be reinforced or modified. Please keep in mind that these brackets must be mounted to a flat surface.
The universal brackets are designed for use with Blue Ox tow bars like the Alpha, # BX7365.
I have included an article for you which covers the basics of flat towing. To complete your set-up, you may still need the following:
Safety Cable Set - Included with the Aladdin or you could use # RM-653.
Tow Bar Wiring/Lighting - For an easy lighting solution take a look at the Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights, # C6304.
Supplemental Braking System - The preferred system here at etrailer is the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO, # SM99251.
